Lily Bee & Gossamer Blue

Happy Friday, friends!

Fabulous News Update:  Lily Bee Design has teamed up with Gossamer Blue for their June Kits!  I got the chance to work with them over the past couple of weeks and let me tell you that I couldn't believe the amount of paper goodness that was jam packed into the kits!!!  There's also two exclusive papers designed by our own Kristen Young and an awesome stamp in one of the add-on kits.

Here's a layout I created using some of the exclusive papers...

Kits go on sale tomorrow to non-subscribers and be sure to check out the Lily Bee Design and Gossamer Blue blogs Thursdays during the month of June for joint contest announcements and more DT inspiration!!!

Have a great day!  TFL!

OMG! How Do I Use That?

Happy Thursday and welcome to the second installment of "OMG!  How Do I Use That?".  My very dear friend Jenifer and I came up with this little series to help push each other to use products that stump us or seem a bit challenging...you can view the first installment of our little series here.

For this challenge we decided to use this lovely piece of patterned paper from the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss Collection...

I have quite a few pieces of patterned paper in my stash that have an "alphabet" design printed on them and for some reason or another (maybe just fear, lol!) I have NEVER used any of them...until now...

I knew right away that I wanted to cut into that gorgeous piece of paper and that I wanted to use triangles.  I have no idea why I chose to place everything else at a slant ;)  But that's what's fun about a challenge, trying something totally different and loving how it turns out!

I cut the "four" out of the paper piece and used it for the first part of my title, "Four Going On Fourteen".  Ain't that the truth!

I cut the bottom strip from the other side of the paper and used it on my page because I just loved the little banners with the sayings on them.  It totally helped me pull in the theme of my page.

And I tucked in a tiny journaling note inside of the polka-dot mini envelope and used some neon Mister Huey's to mist my ampersand die-cut.

I think I can safely say that I've overcome my fear of alpha papers, ha ha!  Now head on over to Jenifer's blog to see how she used this same piece of paper.

Have a great day and TFL!

Bike Adventure

Happy Wednesday!

I'm up on the Come On Get Crafty blog today sharing this layout using some of the amazing Pink Paislee Cottage Farms Collection...

I just love the soft colors of this collection paired with anything gold!

I layered the Press Ons under and around the butterfly die-cut I created using my Cameo.  They adhere so smoothly and add such a great pop of color.

I used some Mister Huey's Shell and Inky Black to create my splotches.  I also added a few rhinestones here and there for extra dimension.

I just adore the butterflies in this collection!  So pretty and girly...perfection!

Don't forget to check out my full post here and be sure to check out all the new amazing items in the shop!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Project Life - Week 21

Happy Tuesday, friends!

I have my Project Life Week 21 spread to share with you today...

This was the first full week that the kiddos were out of school.  We did pretty well adjusting I must say, although we're not quite in a "routine" yet.

The weather this week was beyond amazing!  Sunshine and breezy temps made a huge impact on outdoor activities...lots of park play and fishing took place this week :)

I used what little left I had of May's PL Kit from SC, Planetarium, and lots of embellishments and bits from the Mint Julep Collection from BasicGrey.

A few major events of our week included getting our porch concrete poured for our shed, taking down all of our shutters and washing them to get them prepped for painting (we had 19 sets so this was quite the task!), kitchen countertop measurements were taken, as well as the backsplash (yikes!), and I'm continuing on with house renovations and moving my craft room from the dining room to Garrison's old room.  Oh yeah, I moved his stuff down to his new room and cleaned up half of the basement.  Um, busy really isn't the word I would use right now to sum up this week.  Crazy seems more appropriate.

We did find some time to relax over the holiday weekend and we grilled out several times, which is always a family favorite.  I needed a little break anyway ;)

How was your week?

TFL!

The Sweetest

Happy Memorial Day Monday, everyone!  I hope you've had a safe and festive weekend!  We have been busy with house projects, but we did find a little bit of time to sneak in some fishing with the kiddos yesterday :)

I'm over at the Chic Tags blog today with this layout I created using lots of Birthday Cake Banners...

I layered the banners under the photo strip of my niece and I and pulled lots of soft colors out of my photo for the rest of my layout.

I also used bits from Crate Paper's "The Pier" Ephemera Pack which is perfect for summer-inspired creations.

Supplies Used:  Chic Tags (Birthday Cake Banners, Birthday Cake File ATC's, Everyday Life II A/B Tags)

You can see my full Chic Tags post here.  Have a great day and TFL!

Field Trip

Happy Friday, everyone!

I'm over at the Lily Bee blog today sharing a quick and easy tutorial on how I used chipboard stickers to create the title for this layout...

I had the best time with my oldest son on his fifth grade field trip to a local historical site a few weeks ago.  The weather was absolutely perfect and I had a lot of great photos from our little adventure.

The paper and embellishments from the Destination Collection were perfect for this layout!  They really helped me pull off the "travel-theme" and the colors are so bright and fun to work with.

To see more of this layout and to check out the title tutorial, head on over to the blog.

I hope you have a great day and a very happy Memorial Day weekend!  TFL!

Project Life - Week 20

Happy Monday!

Week 20 is in the books and I am now scrapping from my kitchen table and counter :0)

Week 20 was filled with end-of-school parties, field days, and activities...times 3!  And painting...lots and lots of painting...

I spent most of every waking moment moving furniture, cleaning, organizing, and re-organizing our entire basement because the painters came this week.  It was quite a circus and I was pretty much on my own because my hubby finally got a chance to get some farming done.

Left Side:

As of Friday, all of my kiddos were officially out of school for summer break!  Here we go!!!

That "Big Mess" in the upper left hand corner is what I have left to clean and put away in my basement.  Plus, I have to move my craft room upstairs because my oldest son is moving into it, crazy isn't even the word for it!  It'll all be worth it though...I hope!

The shed progress is still coming about slowly.  We did get concrete poured inside, but we still have the outside porch and garage door area to complete.

Right Side:

And here's my full Project Life spread for Week 20...

I used lots of goodies from SC's Planetarium PL kit for this spread and a few random items from my stash.

Have a great day and TFL!

We R Memory Keepers Guest Spot

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Today I'm being featured on the We R Memory Keepers Facebook Page and blog!  I created a layout using some products from their Feelin' Groovy collection and you can check it out here.

I also created this home decor project using some embossed stickers and some of the adorable tags from the Feelin' Groovy collection...

I created this framed wall art piece by layering tags, stickers, and buttons on a piece of 12x12 patterned paper (also from the collection).

I really liked all of the positive words and phrases from the various embossed stickers and tags and I plan on hanging it up in my children's playroom.

I added a few buttons for extra dimension and used some white spray ink for a bit of texture.

I really enjoyed working with these amazing products from We R Memory Keepers and you can check out my layout here.

Have a great day and TFL!http://wermemorykeepers.wordpress.com/2013/05/15/guest-designer-adrienne-alvis/

Project Life - Week 19

I honestly don't know how I got this week completed.  We are in the middle of a basement overhaul, it's the last week of school for the kiddos (which means a ton of activities), my husband is finally in the field, and I had to move my entire craft room into the dining area so I can continue on with my various DT commitments and scrap projects.  I'm admitting that I might have taken on little too much....but, I just need to get through the next two weeks and life should be a lot smoother.  At least that's what I keep telling myself :)

Here's a look at my Project Life spread for Week 19...

I used one of the 4x6 filler cards from SC's Planetarium Project Life Kit and embossed "Week 19" using my heat gun and some white embossing powder.  I forget how much I love to emboss, especially white on a bright, bold color.

My oldest son and I went on a little adventure with his fifth grade class on Wednesday to a local historical site so I added a few of my favorite photos from the day inside of the foldable filler card (see below).

We got our staircase completed this week...long story, but I love how it turned out!

And here's the left side of my PL spread...

I didn't have a ton of photos to use this week so I added in a few extra filler cards that I misted, stamped, and embellished to help enhance my color scheme throughout my spread.

My mom, sister, and I spent Saturday in St. Louis at the Missouri Botanical Gardens.  It was a fabulous girl's day with such beautiful scenery and a fantastic sushi lunch at Cafe Mochi.

Here's a shot of the right side of my spread...

And here's my full spread for the week of May 6th - May 12th...

I hope you have a wonderful day and TFL!
