Scraplifted Cards

Hello everyone!

I'm sharing some cards I created on the Lily Bee blog today.  This week's theme is scraplifting a design team member or a member from the Lily Bee Flickr group.

For my first card, I chose to scraplift fellow DT member, Patricia's, "Time For Tea Dear" layout...

I was really inspired by the diamond design she created out of the patterned paper pieces.

My next card's design came from a layout by Nicole, another fellow DT member...

I used the same cut file as the background for my card and placed a couple of speech bubbles on it just like she did on her layout.

Be sure and head over to the blog and check out who Wendy and Patricia scraplifted for their card designs.

Have a wonderful day!

School Days

Happy Wednesday!

This week's theme over at the Lily Bee blog is using mixed media techniques.  Here's a layout I created using this month's sketch...

I used modeling paste and a hexagon mask to create my "honeycombs".  I added the ink with a paintbrush after the paste dried.

You can view the full post here.  And don't forget to play along with this month's sketch challenge and get a chance to win a Lily Bee prize package!

Have a great day and TFL!

Celebrate (Happy Day)

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

I'm sharing this layout on the Lily Bee blog today and it includes quite a few free cut file downloads so be sure and check out the full post here...

The theme for this week is "Living Large", in other words, using a large photo on a layout or a large element on a card.  I was excited to use this photo of my family that was taken at my father's 60th birthday party back in June.  I don't have near enough photos of my parents, my brothers and sister, and me all together.

I used my Cameo to cut out the vellum butterflies and my "celebrate" and "happy day" title that I backed with matching patterned paper from the Sweet Shoppe collection.

I also cut out the tiny vellum hearts that are scattered about my page using my Cameo and then used my Tiny Attacher to staple them down.

Supplies: Pinwheel (Lemonade Stand paper, Cartwheels paper, Chipboard Stickers, Embellishment Bundle, Letter Stickers, Circle & Tag Stickers, Chit Chat Stickers, Label Stickers), Sweet Shoppe (Marshmellow paper, Label Stickers, Embellishment Bundle)

Be sure and check out Nicole's take on this week's theme of "Living Large" and score some free cut file downloads here.

Have a wonderful day!  TFL!

Back To School

Happy Monday, friends!

I'm sharing this layout over on the Lily Bee blog today...this week's theme is all about "Back to School"!

My kiddos start back to school this week so we've been busy shopping and getting everything checked off the school supply lists.  I actually still love shopping for school supplies...it's like a fresh start for everyone!

I used lots of brightly colored pieces of patterned paper from the Pinwheel and Sweet Shoppe Collections.  I was inspired by the subject of geometry for my layout's design, hence all of the triangles and circles :)

Are you ready for "back to school"?  For even more inspiration, be sure and stop by the Lily Bee blog to see how Diane interpreted the theme.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Altered Mini Clipboard Project

Happy Friday, everyone!

I'm sharing this fun project over at the Lily Bee blog today...

I found some mini clipboards at my local Wal-Mart for under $2 a piece and decided to cover them in patterned paper and dress them up a bit!

I made three...one for a calendar, one for lists, and one for keeping receipts, tickets, etc. handy and within easy reach.  I think these would also make great displays for photos, kids art, and memorabilia.

Supplies Used:  Sweet Shoppe (Licorice Whip, Embellishment Bundle), Pinwheel (Apricot Tree, Jump Rope, Flip Flops, Embellishment Bundle, Label Stickers), Destination (Chipboard Stickers)

You can see my full post here with all of the details.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Summer 2013

Happy Monday, friends!

I'm sharing a layout over on the Lily Bee blog today along with the super talented Cindy Liebel that's all about summertime favorites and traditions...

I decided to use my Silhouette and cut out a large sunburst for a bold background.  I placed separate strips of patterned paper under each ray and used my sewing machine to stitch them down.

I used random photos of some of our family's favorite summer activities such as playing at the park, lounging on the beach, and just hanging out at home on a warm, sunny day.

I cut out the speech bubbles from the Flip-Flops paper from the Pinwheel collection.

Supplies Used:  Sweet Shoppe (JuJu Bee, Candy Stick, Label Stickers, Chit Chat Stickers), PInwheel (Sprinklers, Flip-Flops, Flower Box, 6x6 Tiny Tablet, Letter Stickers)

Be sure and check out Cindy's layout about her family's favorite summer tradition here.

Have a great day and thanks for looking!

June Card Sketch Challenge - Lily Bee Design

Happy Tuesday, friends!

I'm over at the Lily Bee blog today along with the super-talented Becky Williams sharing a few "Fatherhood" themed cards.  Yes, I said cards, lol!  I don't think I've made a card in over two years!  It certainly was a fun switch and I really enjoyed using Becky's sketch.

For my first card, I used lots of product from the Destination Collection and I switched out the squares in the sketch for circles...

I also added a little cluster of embellishments at the top left-hand corner to draw the eye across the card. I love how using sketches help jumpstart my creativity and are flexible enough to add in other elements.

For my second card, I stayed very true to Becky's sketch and kept most of the elements in the same place.

Once again, I used lots of product from the Destination Collection for this card...it's perfect for masculine and travel-themed projects.

Be sure and check out the full post here and see how Becky interpreted the sketch.  You can also play along with our sketch challenge this month and be entered into a drawing to win a Lily Bee prize package.  See the full details here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Lily Bee + PageMaps

Happy Tuesday!

Lily Bee Design and PageMaps are working together this month to offer you even MORE inspiration and layout ideas!

I had the chance to work with a 12x12 double layout sketch...yes, that's right, I said DOUBLE!

I had a blast with the sketch and haven't scrapped a double 12x12 spread in years!

I thought these photos of my daughter were perfect for this spread.  I love all the different angles of the shots spread across the two pages.

I used my Cameo to cut out the photo frames and the sunburst cut that I used on the right side of the spread.  I also layered lots of chipboard stickers and bits around my photos to help execute my "spring" theme.

LilyBee Supplies Used:  Pinwheel (Lime Rickey, Picnic Basket, Kite Strings, Lemonade Stand, Embellishment Bundle, Chipboard Stickers, Chit Chat Stickers, Circle & Tag Stickers, 6x6 Tiny Tablet, Label Stickers, Letter Stickers), Sweet Shoppe (Pink Mint)

Be sure to check out the Lily Bee Design blog and the PageMaps blog for some of the other DT member's amazing creations using the sketches!

Have a great day and thanks for looking :) :)
