Adventure Dog *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello, everyone! We have the sweetest, craziest, most energetic, fur baby in our household and her name is Daisy! She is a yellow lab pup and she stole our hearts from the moment we brought her home! I've scrapped a few pages of her when she was a tiny puppy, but it's been a while so I have this fun layout to share with you today that I posted on the Shimmerz Paints blog yesterday!

I started by choosing a tiny pink and white, triangular printed piece of patterned paper from my stash and used some Acritonez in "3 Sheets To The Wind" to set the stage for the bolder colors I added. I simply took an old gift card from Starbuck's, dripped a little bit of the white Acritonez across my page, and swiped it horizontally using the gift card.

Next, I took another gorgeous Acritonez color in "Pinkadelic" and using the same "old gift card" method, swiped it over the dried white Acritonez...

I also used some plastic packaging and spritzed it with some Coloringz spray ink in "No Yoking" and gently pressed it around my background patterned paper so it would add a bright pop of color to my layout!

After the Acritonez and Coloringz dried, I sprinkled a few drops of Coloringz in "Well Blue Me Down" and "Don't Citron Me" around my page for a little extra color contrast. I layered a large cut file from Hip Kit Club on top of my background page and placed the photos of our lab, Daisy, on top of it. I layered a few chipboard stickers and enamel dots from my stash around my page and journaled  near the bottom to complete my layout!

I love how bright and happy the colors on this page turned out! I also love how well the black and white accents pop off the page and give it some added dimension! Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you have a great week!

Grateful *Shimmerz Paints*

Hey, everyone!

I shared this fun layout on the Shimmerz Paints blog yesterday...I had a great photo of me and my kiddos that was taken this past Mother's Day that I couldn't wait to scrap!

To begin, I used some Dazzlerz in Red-iculous and a heart stencil from my stash to create the slightly shimmering textured hearts on my background paper.

Next, I used the colors in the photo for my color scheme inspiration and chose some Coloringz spray inks from Shimmerz in Oh Say Can U Sea, Night Moves, and Mamma Sings the Blues to add some mist to my layout. I just lightly sprayed the Oh Say Can U Sea Coloringz spray paint on top of the texture paste once it was dry.

I added ink splatters in the Night Moves, a gorgeous matte black, and some in Mamma Sings the Blues for an added cool tone. I embellished my layout using some gold puffy hearts and black accents to coordinate with my overall color scheme.

I love how the hearts just pop off of the page, don't you? Thanks for stopping by today! I hope the rest of your week is lovely!

Hey There, Sunshine! *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello, everyone!

I'm really excited to share this fun layout with you today that I created using some Coloringz non-shimmering spray inks and Dazzlerz shimmering dimensional paste! I also shared this on the Shimmerz Paints blog yesterday...

For this layout, I wanted to use a large title and a black and white photo because I wanted to add different Shimmerz paint colors so they would POP! I started by choosing a very lightly colored piece of patterned paper from my stash and misting some Coloringz spray paints on it in No Yoking, Mandarin Mai Tai, Don't Citron Me, and Pretty in Pink.

Next, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a large title for my page using some bright aqua card stock. I layered the cut file on top of the misted patterned paper after it dried and then placed the photo of me and my daughter toward the bottom.

I placed several puffy sticker embellishments around my page and decided I needed some black to accent my black and white photo so I used some Dazzlerz shimmering dimensional paste in Licorice Stick and a stencil to create some textured hearts in a few places on my layout.

After the Dazzlerz dried, I journaled next to my photo and sprinkled a few more ink splatters around my layout being extra careful not to get any on my photo!

This layout was so simple to create! All it took was some card stock, a photo, a few simple embellishments, and some Shimmerz! Thanks so much for joining me and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Just Jump *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello, lovelies!

Today I have a fun layout that I created using some Coloringz, Vibez, and Dazzlerz paints from Shimmerz that I shared on their blog yesterday...

I started by using a doily-shaped stencil from my stash and misting some Coloringz non-shimmering spray ink in Well Blue Me Down, No Yoking, and Mandarin Mai-Tai on a piece of white card stock. I also sprayed some Vibez shimmering spray ink in Blue Jeans as well to create the background.

After the mists dried, I layered my photos on top of the doily-shapes that I created with the stencils and mists and adhered them down using some foam dimensional adhesive.

I took another polka-dotted stencil from my stash and some Dazzlerz dimensional paste in Jelly Bean Green to create even more dimension on my page. The Dazzlerz paste has just the right amount of shimmer in it and I love how it helps add texture to my layout!

After the Dazzlerz dried, I layered lots of embellishments around my layout to accent my photos and bring out some of the lovely Shimmerz colors that I used.

I also layered a few patterned paper strips at the top and bottom of my page for even more color coordination!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fabulous day!

Wild About You *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello, crafty friends!

I'm here today with a layout to share that I created using some Coloringz, Aqua Huez, and Acritonez and a few wild photos that I posted on the Shimmerz Paints blog yesterday...

As you can tell from the photos that I chose to use, I was really inspired by the "jungle theme" and the colors from my daughter and her dance group's outfits! I used some Coloringz in Keep Palm, a non-shimmering, highly pigmented spray ink, to create a light green, earthy background using the packaging technique and then layered some Aqua Huez in 14 Carrots on top of the Keep Palm for a little added color contrast.

For my title, I simply grabbed a few foam letter stickers from my stash and took a dry paintbrush and some Acritonez in Shimmerz Tar, Tar and swiped the paint across in a striped pattern. After the Acritonez self-priming acrylic paint dried on the letters, I used some more of the Aqua Huez in 14 Carrots, which is a non-shimmering watercolor, to add some orange to coordinate with my page.

I placed several die cut palm leaves around the photos and sprinkled a few ink splatters around using some Coloringz in Night Moves.

I embellished my layout by adding some orange enamel dots around the black ink spatters and placing two large wood veneer sentiment pieces at the top and bottom of my page.

This color scheme was a little out of my comfort zone, but I just love how well it coordinated with the photos of my daughter and her dance group, don't you?

Thanks so much for joining me and I hope you have a wonderful day!

May Mix Up *Pinkfresh Studio*

Hello everyone!

I have a layout and a Project Life spread that I created by mixing the latest Pinkfresh Studio collections together! They pair so well with each other which made it really easy and fun to use for these projects.

For this layout, I started by choosing one of the patterned papers from the Dream On collection and layered some smaller paper pieces from the Live More collection on top of the background patterned paper. I love the sentiments on the "Rise" patterned paper piece from the Live More collection, don't you? Since I didn't want to cover it up completely, I layered the photos of my daughter and her puppy off to the left side of the "Rise" paper so most of the wording would stay in view. I also created a little motion by stamping the confetti behind my photos using the Live More stamp set.

For added color and dimension I placed several of the triangle shaped Studio Puffs from the Live More collection on top of the confetti stamps. I also added a few of the layered chipboard stickers from the Live More collection and The Mix No. 1 collection which is exclusively embellishments.

For my next project, I created a pocket page spread for my Project Life album for the month of March. After I printed my photos off on my home printer, I used the 6x6 paper pad from the Dream On and Live More collections to make my journaling cards for the 3x4 pockets. The smaller scale of the patterns look better for my overall design since the pocket sizes are smaller. I embellished directly onto my photos and the journaling cards by using items from the Dream On and Live More collections such as the studio puffs, card stock die cuts, and a few of the layered chipboard stickers.

I kept my spread cohesive my using the same color scheme for both pages and by layering some of the embellishments onto the photos themselves.

I created my title card, which is at the bottom right-hand corner of my spread, by simply placing some of the Live More acetate alphas on a piece of patterned paper from the same collection to spell out the month of March and adhering them using my mini stapler.

I love how the pastel colors of the Live More collection balance out the bolder colors of the Dream On and The Mix No.1 collections! I also love how they all coordinate with my everyday photos.

Thanks so much for joining me! I hope you have a great day and don't be afraid to "mix it up"!

Here With You Always *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello, crafty friends! I'm here today sharing my latest 12x12 layout that I created using some gorgeous Shimmerz paints!

I started by choosing some of my favorite Coloringz inks in "Don't Citron Me", "Mamma Sings the Blues", and "Mandarin Mai Tai" and used the packaging technique to create the background for my layout.  I simply misted these Coloringz on some leftover plastic packaging and smeared them around  some white cardstock as you can see in the photo below.

After the Coloringz dried, I used a triangle stencil from my stash and some Dazzlerz shimmering dimensional paste in "Red-iculous" for even more texture and color.

Next up, I added lots of patterned paper pieces and die cut embellishments from Pinkfresh Studio because the colors coordinated so well with my photo and the Coloringz inks.

I love how fun this page turned out with the silly photo of my youngest son and his blue mustache he got out of a vending machine at a local Mexican restaurant, lol!

Thanks so much for joining me and I hope you have a fabulous day!

A Little Life Update...

Hello, crafty friends!

I just wanted to jump on here and give you a little update about a new adventure I'm about to embark on. Six weeks ago I took a big leap and signed up to be a LuLaRoe Fashion Consultant. If you've never heard of LuLaRoe, here's a little bit of info about the company...

If you have heard of it then you know exactly how amazing and how big of a deal this is. I'm very excited about this new adventure and I still have a few weeks left in the queue. I've been really busy getting everything ready to receive my initial inventory, but I'm still going to continue paper crafting and blogging, just not quite as much ;)

I promise I won't flood this blog with LuLaRoe happenings and events, but I will have a link to my VIP Facebook group on the sidebar of this blog if you're interested in shopping with me. Right now, I have my first giveaway up on my Facebook business page so here's a link if you're interested...

Ready To Ride *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello, everyone!

I shared this layout that I created using some Dazzlerz, Coloringz, and Vibez on the Shimmerz blog yesterday...

When I begin a layout design, I usually start with some sort of color scheme that coordinates with the photo/photos that I've already chosen to use. I also think about what types of Shimmerz paints will accent or enhance my layout the best, so for today I grabbed several Coloringz inks in Don't Citron Me, Heidi Ho Blue, Well Blue Me Down, and Night Moves and I also used Jeni B Blue in the Vibez spray ink. I love using Coloringz because they are highly pigmented and non-shimmering which works very well with the theme of my page.

I created the "painted" strips that I placed along the same diagonal stripes of the patterned paper by using a cut file as a mask. I simply placed the cardstock with the cut file on top of another piece of white cardstock and misted the various Coloringz inks on it, except for the Night Moves which I used to alter the wood veneer stars that I placed on my page as added embellishments. While I waited for the strips to dry, I used a star stencil from my stash and some Dazzlerz shimmering dimensional paste in Gummy Berry Blue to accent the patterned paper and to add another pop of color.

I fussy-cut the misted strips out from the cardstock after the Coloringz and Vibez dried and machine- stitched them down in the same direction as the stripes on the patterned paper print to enhance it. I really love the effect the misted strips give my page!

I also fussy-cut a few larger stars out of another piece of patterned paper after I had used a stencil and the Dazzlerz paste to coordinate with the black and white elements on my layout. I adhered the stars to my page using some foam dimensional adhesive and also placed several wood veneer stars around them which I altered using some Coloringz spray ink in Night Moves.

I hope I've inspired you to grab some Shimmerz and use them to enhance one of your favorite pieces of patterned paper for your next project!

Thanks so much for joining me and I hope you have a great day!
