JustNick Guest Designer and A Free Cut File!

Happy Friday, friends!

I'm so thrilled to be a guest designer over at JustNick today! If cut files are your jam then this is the place to go for all of your cut file needs! Seriously...there are some amazing cut files designed by my fellow Hip Kit Club DT member, Nicole Nowosad and tons of inspiration from her team on how to use them on the blog!

I created two layouts using some of her amazing files for my guest spot and the first one is titled "Lego Love"...

For this page, I used the Snowflakes cut file from her shop and the "Love" sentiment from the "That's Amore" freebie cut file that you can download for free using the code SWAKFREE at checkout by February 29th, 2016. I resized and cut out the snowflakes from a piece of white card stock and then layered it over a piece of sea foam green card stock.

I cut the snowflakes out again using a bright, aqua piece of card stock and layered several of them on top of the cut out snowflakes from the white card stock.

I used the "Love" sentiment as part of my title and placed the "Lego" foam letters on top of the heart. I really like the contrast the black and white elements give my page and the snowflakes were the perfect motif for the photos of my daughter holding her Frozen Lego castle she built all by herself.

For this next layout, I used the Brick Circle cut file and the SWAK sentiment that's also from the freebie cut file.

I enlarged the brick circle and placed various pieces of patterned paper under each brick. Then I added several of the SWAK sentiments and sized them to fit inside of the bricks.

I used black thread and my sewing machine to stitch around the entire brick circle and layered several chipboard stickers around my photos to help draw the eye around the circle.

I printed my photos off in black and white for added contrast and to coordinate with the black elements on my page.

Please be sure and head over to the JustNick blog to download the Freebie Cut File that was designed just for my guest spot. It's perfect for all of you Valentine's Day projects or love inspired layouts!

Thanks so much for joining me here today and I want to thank Nicole for having me as a guest DT as well!

xoxo

Summer This & That *Hip Kit Club*

Hello crafty friends!

I shared this layout on the Hip Kit Club blog yesterday that I created using the June 2015 Hip Kits and a free cut file that's available on the Hip Kit Club Member Forum Facebook page!

I used the gorgeous patterned paper from Simple Stories that's available in the June 2015 Main Kit for my background and cut out the x's and o's using the same paper and layering it on top of the "B" side.

I went crazy with the embellishments and layers and placed everything around the center of my page where I printed a 4x4 photo grid from my printer.

There were so many amazing embellishments in this month's kits that I couldn't help but use most of them, lol!

Be sure and head to our Member Forum on Facebook to snag this free cut file for yourself!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for dropping by!

Happy, Happy, Happy *Hip Kit Club*

Hello!

I shared this layout over on the Hip Kit Club blog the other day...

I used the amazing and oh-so-colorful May 2015 Hip Kits for this page.  The "Happy, Happy, Happy" cut file I included for my title can be downloaded for free here.

This month's Color Kit is amazing and that's how I created the bright yellow triangles on my page.

For more details about my page head on over to the Hip Kit Club blog and check it out :)

Scraplifted Cards

Hello everyone!

I'm sharing some cards I created on the Lily Bee blog today.  This week's theme is scraplifting a design team member or a member from the Lily Bee Flickr group.

For my first card, I chose to scraplift fellow DT member, Patricia's, "Time For Tea Dear" layout...

I was really inspired by the diamond design she created out of the patterned paper pieces.

My next card's design came from a layout by Nicole, another fellow DT member...

I used the same cut file as the background for my card and placed a couple of speech bubbles on it just like she did on her layout.

Be sure and head over to the blog and check out who Wendy and Patricia scraplifted for their card designs.

Have a wonderful day!

Sweet Little Moments Mini Album

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend :)

I'm sharing this adorable mini album I made using the super cute Oh Baby! Collection on the Chic Tags blog today...

Since my baby boy is six years old and my pregnancy days are over, I decided I would make this mini as a gift for someone else instead.

I used the free cut file "sweet little moments" for the album title, which you can download here, and the circle star cut file for part of my background which you can download for free here

Since it's a gift, I used some photo frame patterned paper to mark the spots for photos, which could be added in at any time.

I used some vellum bags and placed some Oh Baby! Boy Updates tags inside of them so they could easily be accessible to document all of those sweet little "firsts".

I made a pocket out of some vellum to store extra items and memorabilia inside, such as hospital bracelets, locks of hair, etc.

I used lots of random sized patterned and vellum papers for this mini because I really like things peeking out of the pages and it was fun to mix it up for a change.

I used a couple of the Oh Baby! Boy Icons as you can see above and then one on the opposite side to pull the design together.

I layered the Oh Baby! Boy Milestone tags on the front and back of the polka dot flap and stamped the word "date:" on each one so it would be easy to record when these events happened.

Towards the back of the album, I added another vellum bag filled with the rest of the Oh Baby! Boy Updates and another spot for a cute photo.

I also used the Chic Tags cut file "Love This" and misted it with some black and silver spray ink for one of the pages which you can download for free here.

Chic Tags Used: Oh Baby! (Boy Icons, Boy Milestones, Boy Mini Tags, Boy Updates), Birthday Cake (Artisans, Labels), Everyday Life II (Date Tags, Cards)

I had a lot of fun creating this mini album and I can't wait to use it for a new baby gift!  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
