OMG! How Do I Use That?

Hello everyone!

It's time for another installment of the "OMG! How Do I Use That" series that my friend Jenifer and I participate in!  Basically, it's just a fun way for us to use paper or products that stump us creatively.  Plus, we love to see what each other comes up with and share our creations with all of you, of course!

This time we decided to use this piece of patterned paper from Studio Calico...

I love this piece of paper, but wow is it graphic!  Or maybe loud is a better word, lol!

Here's what I came up with...

I cut the paper in large, random, chunks and then pieced them back in order on a piece of pink card stock.  I stitched each section and then stitched two "blank" sections at the bottom to incorporate the design into my white space.

I added a bunch of yellow, gold, clear, and black sequins throughout the page and placed my title and journaling in separate areas at the bottom.

Now head on over to Jenifer's blog and check out how she used this fun patterned paper!  TFL!

Have a great day!

OMG! How Do I Use That?

Happy Thursday and welcome to the second installment of "OMG!  How Do I Use That?".  My very dear friend Jenifer and I came up with this little series to help push each other to use products that stump us or seem a bit challenging...you can view the first installment of our little series here.

For this challenge we decided to use this lovely piece of patterned paper from the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss Collection...

I have quite a few pieces of patterned paper in my stash that have an "alphabet" design printed on them and for some reason or another (maybe just fear, lol!) I have NEVER used any of them...until now...

I knew right away that I wanted to cut into that gorgeous piece of paper and that I wanted to use triangles.  I have no idea why I chose to place everything else at a slant ;)  But that's what's fun about a challenge, trying something totally different and loving how it turns out!

I cut the "four" out of the paper piece and used it for the first part of my title, "Four Going On Fourteen".  Ain't that the truth!

I cut the bottom strip from the other side of the paper and used it on my page because I just loved the little banners with the sayings on them.  It totally helped me pull in the theme of my page.

And I tucked in a tiny journaling note inside of the polka-dot mini envelope and used some neon Mister Huey's to mist my ampersand die-cut.

I think I can safely say that I've overcome my fear of alpha papers, ha ha!  Now head on over to Jenifer's blog to see how she used this same piece of paper.

Have a great day and TFL!

OMG! How Do I Use That?

Happy Wednesday!

My friend, Jenifer, and I came up with a little scrappy challenge for each other last week.  We both had the same sheet of patterned paper that we hadn't used yet.  This was mainly because it had a very bright and graphic design and also because we didn't want to cut into it and ruin the amazing effect, so it was sort of a stumper, lol!

So we decided to set a date to complete a layout using the paper to see what we could come up with.  I was instantly inspired by our "friendly" little challenge and here's what I came up with...

At first, I had every intention of cutting the paper up.  But I just couldn't make myself do it...I knew once I cut into it, I would never be able to go back, ha!  So I dug into my photo stash and found this black & white pic of me and my daughter hanging out and being silly with my iPhone.  She loves to snuggle up with me and take random "selfies".  It's too cute!

I used products from Studio Calico and Life.Love.Paper. for this layout.  I really like the effect the black and white had against the bold, colorful design of the background paper.  I also added a splash of color with some Mister Huey's Seafoam spray mist, which is one of my new favorite colors!

I don't know why I was so "afraid" of using this paper...this turned out to be one of my all time favorite layouts!  Who knew?!?!

Now head on over to Jenifer's blog to check out how she used the same piece of patterned paper.

Do you have a piece of patterned paper or product you're afraid to use?  If so, I "challenge" you to pull it out and use it!  You'll love the results!

Have a great day and TFL!
