December Memories Album Part Two

Happy Monday, friends!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are ready for the New Year!  As promised I have the rest of my December Memories album to share with you today :)

I finished this baby up a couple of days after Christmas and I'm thrilled with the end result!  After I finally got over the fact that I wasn't documenting our month chronologically, it came together rather quickly.  You can see the first part of this album here.

I added an extra page showcasing our Elf on the Shelf, Erwin.  He was so fun to photograph and I wanted to include all of the places he had been in our house on one page.  I used a PS template that was included in the December Memories Class at GB for this.

And here's the other side of the insert...

I took a photograph of our Christmas tree's reflection in the window, printed it out at 6x8, and layered some letter stickers and embellishments right on top of it.

I included extra photos and ephemera from the holiday season in the chevron kraft bag that I included in my album...

I didn't take a ton of photos on Christmas day, but I captured enough of it for my album and I'm ok with that :)  I tucked a journaling tag inside of the small baggie of our day and how we spent it.

I didn't get a shot of the whole family either, so I included a photo of my three kiddos and my niece to fill the spot in the back of my album.  I also slipped all of my Christmas cards in the very back so they're all in one place.

So there you have it...a whole month of December Memories for 2013!  I really enjoy doing this each year and it makes December seem that much more special to me.  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a great Monday!

December Memories Album

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!  I totally dropped the ball on blogging about my on-going progress with my December Memories album these past couple of weeks, gah!  I do have some pages completely completed, ha ha, and here they are...

I kept the design of my album fairly simple and used a lot of full sized photos.

I also didn't do a "day-by-day" style of album since I do Project Life.  I just decided to keep record of our specific "December Memories" moments when they occurred and not in any type of chronological order.  This was a very different way for me to record my month and I've struggled a bit putting it all together.

I sort of did my pages by theme...decorating, favorite holiday music choices, enjoying hot cocoa, Elf on the Shelf photos, decorating the tree, etc.

I did really enjoy working with the 6x8 Handbook size this year.  I will probably even add a few extra pages.

I stuck all of the notes Erwin the Elf left us in the kraft bag above.  I love adding in smaller pockets and envelopes to include random bits and ephemera.

I plan on completing my album next weekend and will make sure I post it for you before New Year's...promise!

I hope you have a wonderful holiday and a very Merry Christmas!

December Memories 2013 with GB

Hello everyone!  I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Now that it's over it's time to start thinking about the next holiday that's right around the corner...Christmas!!!  And that means it's December Daily time again, which truly is an amazing way to document the entire month of December instead of just one day.  This will be my third year creating a DD and I did it a little differently this time.

I used Gossamer Blue's December Memories kit and was a class contributor so I had to create my base pages ahead of time.  I'm a "work around the photos" type of scrapper so that was something very new and different for me to do :)  I created my base pages back in October and now that November is almost over I'm so thankful that much of it is already complete!

Base Pages:

Since I've been doing a Project Life album this year, I've decided to keep going about it the same way for December (just the normal everyday stuff and photos for those spreads).  My December Memories album will consist of more holiday-inspired events and photos.  I don't plan on making it chronological...just documenting our month however it works out as we go along.

As you can see, I slipped photo placeholders into some of the dividers to help me keep a visual image of each page.

I added in several kraft baggies to hold ephemera and other holiday treasures I might collect throughout the month.  I also plan on doing some extra embellishing after I place my photos in their sleeves each day.

I left an empty 6x8 sleeve in the back of my album for the holiday cards that I will receive.  They usually don't take up much space and are easier to keep track of when they are in my December Memories album.

I will be sharing my December Memories pages on my blog on Saturday or Sunday each week throughout the month so I hope you'll stop in to see how it all comes together!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
