Love This *Crate Paper*

Hello everyone!

I'm sharing this post over on the Crate Paper blog today...

I find that Pinterest is a great source to jumpstart my creativity.  When I'm in a scrappy rut (or just crunched for time), I search Pinterest and always find something that inspires my next project or creation.  I especially like searching for images that are all about composition.  Here is an image that inspired the layout that I have to share with you today...

And here's my twist on it...

I started by printing my photos in a few different (square) sizes.  I found several pieces of patterned paper from the Open Book collection that complimented my photos and cut them into the same sized squares as the photos.

Next, I cut the patterned paper squares in half diagonally and placed them around my photos and added several different embellishments from the Open Book collection on and around the triangles.

I printed my journaling from my computer, cut it into thin strips, and added it underneath the photo of my daughter throwing leaves into the air.

This next image I found on Pinterest inspired a simple card I created using items from the Open Book collection...

I layered several of the scrap pieces of patterned paper from my layout above as a base for my card, which is a great way to use leftovers!  I added a few triangle shapes that point toward the chipboard "love you" sentiment form the Open Book collection and placed a few gold glitter hearts on top of the stitched triangles.

My layout and card came together easily with a little help from my Pinterest search.  Be sure and follow the Crate Paper Pinterest Boards to help inspire your next layout or project.

Xmas Cocoa

Hello friends,

I'm sharing this layout I created using the November Hip Kits on the Hip Kit blog today...

I couldn't resist using the adorable black and white patterned paper with the photos of my kiddos enjoying some hot cocoa during the holidays last year as my background paper.  I normally stick to something much more muted (and white), but it was really fun mixing in the pops of red, gold, and gray against the b&w background.

I also created this holiday card using several of the November kit items that are available here.

And I'm excited to announce that I'll be creating with the December Documented Kit from Hip Kit Club this year and if you head on over to the blog you can see some of my sneaks using the kit.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Fa La La

Happy Tuesday!

I shared this layout and card over on the Hip Kit Club blog on Sunday...

My inspiration for this layout came from the bokeh-style Christmas tree lights I captured last year...

I layered my title directly on top of my photo for a little twist.

I used the November kits for both of these projects and you can see my full post on how they came together here.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Hip Kit Club Guest Designer

Happy Thursday, everyone!

I'm so excited to be guest designing for the Hip Kit Club this month!  I created this layout and card using the November kits which are jam packed full of holiday goodness!

I had this photo of my daughter helping me write out Christmas cards last year which I used as my inspiration for the colors I used on my layout.  The Elle's Studio Good Cheer line has lots of pink and aqua which I really love as a twist from the traditional "red and green" holiday color combo.

I used scraps from my layout to create this card...which is always a great way to use leftovers!

Fall Inspired Greeting Cards *October Afternoon Guest DT*

Happy Friday!

I'm sharing some fall inspired cards I created using October Afternoon's Public Library and Apple Cider collections over on the OA blog today.

I love using smaller scraps and leftover bits after I've worked with a collection to whip up a few cards.  It also helps me use up supplies and items that don't make it onto my layouts or in my PL album.

I mixed different patterned papers from the Public Library collection with journaling cards, stickers, and other embellishments from the Apple Cider collection to create these cards.

You can get more details about how I put these cards together over on the OA blog.  I'm also sharing a peek into my creative space and how I store my OA goodies in the same post so I hope you head on over there and check it out!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day :)

Valentine's Day Cards

Hello crafty friends!

I have a bunch of Valentine's Day cards that I created using this month's Life Pages kits and add-ons up on the Gossamer Blue blog today.

I love how versatile the Life Pages kits are and this month I decided to mix it up and make some quick and easy cards for Valentine's.

I basically just layered the 3x4 cards on top of the 4x6 cards from the kits and added some embellishments and ephemera.

I also created a few "pocket style" cards and filled them with little bits and tags to make them a little more interactive...

You can check out more details about my design process in my full post here.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Thankful For You

Happy Saturday, everyone!

I'm sharing this card I created using the November kit, "Home Sweet Home", on the SBC blog today...

I was really inspired by the gorgeous feather cut-outs from BasicGrey and the colors of patterned paper in this month's kit...perfect for this time of year.  I used the exclusive SBC stamp from the main kit and layered some letter stickers on top of it using my sewing machine.

Be sure and check my full post here and have a great day!  TFL!

November OHDEERME Projects

Hello friends!

I had so much fun creating with this month's OHDEERME kit.  Here are a few projects I made using all of the lovely embellishments that were included...

"Me and You"

"Real Life"

"Love Being Together"

It was hard to pick just one favorite embellishment this month, but I have to say that the cork house stickers and the fabric badges were a close tie :)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
