Enjoy Summer and a Project Life Insert! *Hip Kit Club*

Hi everyone!

Today, I have two projects to share with you! I used the July 2016 Hip Kits to create this summer-themed layout and an insert for my Project Life album...

I started by using the Dylusions paint and the HKC exclusive stencil from the July 2016 Color Kit to create my background design. Next, I placed my photos onto my page overlapping them just a bit and added several of the exclusive die cut ephemera pieces from the Color Me Happy collection (available in the July 2016 Main Kit) around my photos.

I also added several of the HKC exclusive puffy stickers and alphas to complete my title and to give my page more dimension.

I love how bright and colorful this page turned out and the Color Me Happy collection is perfect for all of your summertime scrapping needs!

Next up, I have a Project Life insert to share with you...

I have tons of pool photos from this summer and I wanted to corral them all into one pocket page spread so I used some of the journaling cards from the July 2016 Project Life Kit and made an insert for my PL album.

I used lots of the HKC exclusive items such as the flair badges, washi stickers, and word ephemera for my spread.

I also used several of the Project Life High Five chipboard embellishments for my insert and altered a few of the journaling cards using items from the Color Kit

Bold and bright is my jam right now as far as color schemes go and the July kits really helped me pull this off!

Fun Floats *Freckled Fawn*

Hello friends!

I have a super summer-y layout to share with you today that I created using the lovely July Embellishment Kit from Freckled Fawn...

I used an old cut file and duplicated it so I could fill the larger circles with the photo of my daughter floating in the pool on a cupcake floatie!

I filled the other circles in with items from the July kit, "Sweet Treats", from Freckled Fawn. The epoxy donut stickers were perfect for my theme!

I added my journaling and placed it one of the wood veneer frames (also from the kit) and placed one of the cute cloud clips at the top for extra color and dimension.

I love how bright and happy the July Embellishment Kit is! Be sure and check out my full post on the FF blog and get a sneak peek of the upcoming August kit, too!

Hello Sunshine *Hip Kit Club*

Hi friends!

Today I have my first project that I created using the July 2016 Hip Kits to share with you!

My full post is up on the Hip Kit Club blog so be sure and check it out :) The theme for the day was "beautiful blooms" so I used one of the gorgeous floral HKC exclusive patterned papers designed by Kim Watson and layered it on top of the "Hello Sunshine" patterned paper splitting the difference so both pieces could shine.

I used a recent photo of my daughter and layered it under one of the die cut photo frames from the HKC exclusive Color Me Happy collection. I also placed several of the floral puffy stickers and die cuts from the same collection around my photo to help carry out the theme "beautiful blooms".

I sprinkled several spray mist colors on the yellow patterned paper and added some of the exclusive acrylic dots available in the July 2016 Embellishment Kit to complete my page.

Have you used any of the lovely July kits yet? Be sure and upload your creations to the HKC Facebook Member Forum because we always love to see our member creations.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

June 2016 Project Life Spread and a Layout! *Hip Kit Club*

Hello everyone!

I shared my Project Life spread for the month of June and a fun layout on the Hip Kit Club Facebook page last week...

I used the June 2016 Hip Kits to create both of these projects and I think my favorite items are the exclusives from HKC!

I love how well they pair with the Jillibean Soup items and Heidi Swapp chipboard stickers that are available in the June 2016 Project Life Kit.

I'm still loving my monthly spreads this year and the 9x12 album I switched to. I also like journaling directly on my photos using Photoshop Elements and then embellishing all of the lovely PL cards from HKC to my hearts content!

I love how bright and summer-y the colors in the June kits are...they coordinate so well with my photos for this month.

I also have a layout to share with you that I created using the June 2016 Main Kit and the June 2016 Embellishment Kit.

I used an older cut file that I had on hand for the background of my page and took a photo of all of the books that I read since summer began to document my summer reading.

I backed my photo with some of the lovely patterned papers from the June kits and layered a fun rubber charm tag from Pink Paislee next to it. On the other side of my photo I used a button from the same Pink Paislee collection and tucked it underneath the patterned paper piece.

I used the navy Jillibean Soup letters and one of the die cuts from American Crafts to construct my title and layered another HKC exclusive die cut from the Everyday ephemera pack on top to finish it off.

I hope you've enjoyed your visit here today and I sincerely appreciate all of my page views :) Have a great day!

June Ohdeerme Kit Projects *Freckled Fawn*

Hello again! I hope this week is finding you well...TGIF!

I'm still catching up on my blog posting duties so here are two layouts that I created using the June 2016 Ohdeerme Kit from Freckled Fawn, "Citrus Twist"...

Using items from the June Kit, Citrus Twist, made documenting the many amazing and fruit-filled drinks that my husband and I enjoyed on our recent trip to Bora Bora a snap!

I love how the bright colors from the embellishments in the kit pop off of the dark background paper I used. I placed lots of the acetate fruit wedges from the kit around the sides of the polka-dotted patterned paper.

I made my title out of the letter stickers in the kit and backed the lemon acetate piece with some white card stock so it would stand out better on the black and white patterned paper.

For this next layout, I used the washi tape from the kit to create a tic-tac-toe inspired background which was perfect for housing the lovely wood veneer square pieces from the kit!

I really love how fun and summer-y the colors in the June Kit are, don't you? And that washi tape is the best!

I made sure to use lots of color for this page and I even added a few spray ink mists to help make the acetate fruit wedges pop.

I typed my journaling on some vellum and adhered it directly to one of the wood veneer pieces with the other two fruity embellishments near it.

Be sure and check out the Freckled Fawn blog for even more inspiration using the June Kit! As always, thanks for dropping by and I hope you have a great weekend!

Don't Worry, Be Happy *Pinkfresh Studio*

Hi crafty friends!

I shared this layout on the Pinkfresh Studio blog a couple of weeks ago (I told you I was behind ;)...

I used lots of bits and pieces from both the Life Noted and Felicity Collections for this page. I started by placing the diagonally cut heart patterned paper on top of a piece of navy card stock. I just love the contrast of the dark vs. light paper! I think it makes the other embellishments and the photo of me and my daughter after we got fresh haircuts and do's really pop!

You can't really tell from the photo, but the hairstylist added some washable colored streaks to our hair for fun and that was sort of the inspiration behind the rainbow color scheme I chose for my layout. I kept my design simple and used lots of lovely acetate phrases, as well as fussy-cut sentiments from the two collections.

You can see my full post on the Pinkfresh blog. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

XO *Freckled Fawn*

Hey everyone!

I'm a little behind posting projects to my blog, but it's summer and I'm enjoying lots of time away, outdoors, and with my kiddos that I'm not going to get too stressed out about it ;) Anyway, today I have a layout to share with you that I created using the gorgeous July Ohdeerme Kit from Freckled Fawn, "Sweet Treats"...

I had a great shot of my oldest son, (who never seems to want to make photo appearances anymore) at his eighth grade graduation that I wanted to document so I paired a dark gray piece of card stock with a cut file from JustNick Studio that I altered using some coordinating spray inks from Shimmerz.

I placed my journaling in one of the wood veneer frames from the July Kit and layered several of the chipboard stickers and puffy star stickers around it. I also added several of the cork chevron pieces around my page as well to coordinate with the masculine theme and color scheme.

I love how well the aqua, orange, green, and yellow embellishments contrast against the dark background paper!

You can check out my full post on the Freckled Fawn blog. And be sure and grab your July kit, "Sweet Treats", today!

Have a great day!

Captured *Hip Kit Club*

Hey friends!

I'm here today with a layout that I created using the June 2016 Hip Kits from Hip Kit Club...

captured1

There are so many great ephemera pieces in the June kits that I wanted to focus on using them on my layout. I started with a photo grid of my daughter taking selfies one afternoon and placed it on top of the fun cut file designed by Ashley Horton that's available in the shop under June 2016 Downloads.

captured2

Next, I layered several of the American Crafts Project Life Currently Chipboard Ephemera pieces available in the June 2016 Embellishment Kit around my photo grid and placed the "captured" piece in the middle using some foam adhesive for added dimension.

captured3

I kept adding ephemera pieces around the bottom and up the right side of my page tucking some under the cut file and layering others on top of the HKC exclusive Everyday Ephemera pieces that are available in the June 2016 Main Kit. I love how well the ephemera pieces coordinate with the HKC exclusives!

captured4

One of my tricks for getting so much dimension when I layer is using foam adhesive on certain pieces and by using a wide mix of embellishments such as the Everyday Puffy Stickers designed by Kim Watson, the Pink Paislee Fancy Free Decorative Buttons, and the Jillibean Soup Today Words Wood Veneer pieces that are available in the June 2016 Project Life Kit. The mix of materials, colors, and shapes help add lots of texture and dimension which helps draw the eye around the circular design of my layout.

For a finishing touch, I hand-stitched several stitches around the cut file using bright aqua embroidery floss and sprinkled a few drops of the Shimmerz Coloringz Pink Stilettos non-shimmering mist (available in the June 2016 Color Kit) on the speckled background paper as well.

I really love how this page turned out and I hope I've given you some inspiration on how to use up all of that gorgeous ephemera that's available in the June 2016 Hip Kits

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
