Happy New Year and A Project Life Spread *Hip Kit Club*

Hello, everyone!

I'm here with two projects that I created using the December 2016 Hip Kits and I shared these both on the Hip Kit Club blog this past Friday. Let's start by beginning with a fun layout documenting the ringing in of the New Year...

I used some of the lovely HKC Exclusive patterned paper from the December 2016 Paper Kit for my background and then layered several long, narrower strips of paper from the Amber Star collection vertically down the left side of my page. I also used a few of the lovely December Cut Files that are available for free for HKC subscribers and placed them around the photo of my family on New Year's Eve.

I re-sized the cut files so I could layer a few of them together and I added one of the HKC Exclusive flair buttons from the December 2016 Embellishment Kit in the middle. I also adhered a few of the Pink Paislee Birthday Bash sequins around it for some color pop.

My favorite part about this layout is the sequin filled "2017" embellishment! To create this, I simply took a small piece of vellum that fit underneath of the "2017" cut file and used my tape gun to cover it in adhesive. Then I scattered some of the confetti sequins from Pink Paislee on my craft table and flipped the adhesive covered piece of vellum over and smashed it on top of the sequin pile. I lifted it up and a ton of sequins covered the adhesive so I could layer the "2017" cut file on top of it using some foam adhesive to give it some dimension.

To complete my page, I placed some of the Crate Paper Heart Day Thickers on top of the sequin embellishment to create my title. I used a little bit of the Shimmerz Paints Shimmeringz spray ink, available in the December 2016 Color Kit, in Concrete for my ink splatters and placed a few more of the confetti sequins around my layout.

The next project that I have to share with you today is my Project Life spread for December 2016...

Even though I do a December Documented album each year, I still like to include a spread in my Project Life album for December. I try to focus on the "everyday" photos that I didn't use for my DD and I always end up with more than enough to document.

For this PL spread I used items and the HKC Exclusive journaling cards from the December 2016 Project Life Kit. I love the soft colors in this month's PL kit and the purple and aqua are so lovely paired with the gold and yellow accents!

I cut apart the 5x7 Phrase Cut-Apart sheet from the kit and layered some of the sentiments directly on top of my photos. I also used several of the Pink Paislee Take Me Away collection ephemera pieces to embellish the journaling cards.

I also added several pops of gold using the My Mind's Eye Gold Mirrored Acrylic stickers from the embellishment kit to complete my design.

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope I've given you some inspiration on how to use your December 2016 Hip Kits! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

November 2016 Project Life *Freckled Fawn*

Hello!

I have my Project Life spread for the month of November to share with you all today...

I used the stunning December 2016 Embellishment Kit from Freckled Fawn for my spread this month and I just think it looks awesome! The colors in the kit are perfect for winter-themed projects, don't you think?

I also used the December 2016 Journaling Cards from FF that are available here. I layered the embellishments from the December Kit to fancy them up...I think the felt flowers and the deer paper clips are my favortite!

I also really love the gold foil acetate flowers and the flair buttons, too! It's all just too lovely to pick a favorite!

And here's the full spread for November 2016...

Don't forget to check out the End Of Year Sale that's on now at Freckled Fawn!

And on a bittersweet note, I decided to step down from Freckled Fawn for personal reasons so this will be my last project for them :(  Freckled Fawn was the first design team that I was ever on and I've been with them the longest so I'm really sad that I had to choose to step down, although I know I will always be one of their biggest fans and will continue to enjoy using their amazing products! I just want to tell Aesalina and Janna thank you again for having me and we will always be in touch!

xoxo

A Fall-Inspired Project Life Spread and A Layout! *Hip Kit Club*

Hello crafty friends!

I hope you're having a fabulous weekend! I'm here today to share two projects that I created using the October 2016 Hip Kits that I shared on the Hip Kit Club blog the other day.

First up is a Project Life insert I made to document some of our recent fall activities.

I didn't include these photos in my monthly spread, so I decided to create an extra insert to highlight some of my family's recent activities during our favorite season.

I used the HKC Exclusive Project Life cards from the October 2016 Project Life Kit for my spread and layered lots of embellishments from the October kits on top of them for personalization.

I like to keep my embellishing to a minimum for my spreads, but by adding several different layers on the PL cards using items from the kits, I'm still able to give my spread lots of color and dimension.

I focused on my photos and balanced out their brown and green color scheme by using items that had lots of aqua and pink in them.

I also added a few gold accents such as the enamel dots and Jen Hadfield letter stickers that are available in the October 2016 Embellishment Kit.

Next up, I have a 12x12 layout that I created using a large title from one of the October cut files (available here and free to subscribers!) along with other items from the October 2016 Hip Kits.

I was really inspired by the lovely geometric patterned paper from Simple Stories, available in the October 2016 Paper Kit, and the large title that I cut out using my Silhouette Cameo.

I added three fun photos of my two youngest kiddos playing outside in our yard and embellished around them using the We R Memory Keepers wood veneer pieces from the Honey, I'm Home Collection as well as some coordinating die cuts and stickers from the collection.

I accented around my large title using some of the Jen Hadfield gold rub-ons and some of the gold Thickers hearts available in the Main Kit.

Be sure and check out my process video at the end of my post for more details about how I created these two projects.

Thanks so much for joining me! I hope you have a great day!

October 2016 Project Life and A Layout! *Hip Kit Club*

Hello, crafty friends! Today I have two projects to share with you that I created using the October 2016 Hip Kits that were on the Hip Kit Club blog yesterday!

First up, is my Project Life spread for the month of October...

I used items from the October 2016 Project Life Kit to complete this month's spread. The HKC exclusive Project Life cards are always the inspiration for my color schemes in my PL album and they always pair so well with my photos. Since I use a 9x12 sized album, I often have to cut down the 4x6 cards into 3x4, but I always love how they end up looking after I embellish them!

I used the Simple Stories Posh Collection letter stickers to accent the "Hello Oct." PL card that I sized down to 3x4 and added some stitching and gold glitter enamel dots to dress it up.

Since I had a lot of fall-themed photos in this month's spread, I made sure to accent my journaling cards so they coordinated with my overall color scheme. The coral and aqua-hued painted wood veneer embellishments from We R Memory Keepers (available in the October 2016 Main Kit) really added pops of color in just the right spots on my spread.

Next up, I have a 12x12 layout that I created using one of the cut files from this month and items from Simple Stories and We R Memory Keepers that are available in the October 2016 Embellishment Kit.

I had some really great photos of my daughter that I took after we bought pumpkins to decorate around our house for fall so I printed several of them off and layered them on top of the square style cut file available in the October 2016 downloads on the HKC website.

The photos fit perfectly around the cut file so I created a loose grid design using smaller embellishments that I clustered around the photos to sort of connect them all together.

I chose the navy blue patterned paper by Dear Lizzy from the October 2016 Paper Kit to use for my cut file because I love how it popped against the polka-dotted patterned paper from Simple Stories. It also coordinated wonderfully with my photos.

I layered accent stickers, chipboard elements, and ephemera from We R Memory Keepers and Simple Stories around my page for embellishments.

I really love how this page turned out. Be sure and check out my process video for both of these projects below!

Our Happy Place & My September Project Life Spread! *Hip Kit Club*

Hello friends!

Grab a cup of coffee or some tea and get comfy because I'm here with not one, but TWO projects to share with you today that I created using the gorgeous September 2016 Hip Kits! First up, I have a layout that I created using a super-sized photo...

I rarely ever scrap a photo larger than 3x4, but since my challenge was to "supersize it", I decided to go big or go home with a 5x7 photo of our campsite that I took this past summer. Since my photo was scenic, I decided to position it near the bottom of the layout and layer my title and lots of embellishments around it to help draw the eye down my page.

I used a combination of the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Gather collection Thickers (available in the September 2016 Embellishment Kit) with one of the chipboard stickers from the same collection that are available in the September 2016 Main Kit for my title. I placed part of it on and above my large photo so it would look more cohesive with all of the other layers on my page.

I added lots of dimension and texture to my page by layering many of the Gather ephemera pieces from Crate Paper, along with some of the Simple Stories Posh Bits & Pieces that are available in the September 2016 Project Life Kit, along the side edges of my photo and up towards the top of my layout. I also added various pieces of patterned paper from the September 2016 Paper Kit so I could add more color and patterns to my page. I also placed several of the Pinkfresh Studio Indigo Hills Wood Veneer Paper Clips in the layers of ephemera as well for even more added texture and color.

I really love how this page turned out and how well the larger photo looks with the big title and pretty embellishments from the September Kits!

Next up, I have my Project Life spread for September 2016 to share with you...

I used many items from the September 2016 Project Life Kit to complete this month's spread such as the HKC exclusive PL cards, the Dear Lizzy Saturday Wood Veneer Words, and the Simple Stories Posh Enamel Dots.

I also used some of the Simple Stories Posh Bits & Pieces from the PL Kit to accent several of the exclusive PL cards. I just love how well the colors from the PL cards coordinate with the other items and embellishments in the kit!

I now use a 9x12 album for my Project Life spreads and I document them by the month instead of weekly, so I like to keep everything as cohesive and flowing as possible. The Hip Kit Club PL kits are always so helpful in doing this because everything coordinates so well.

I added several of the Maggie Holmes Gather Gold Phrase Stickers (available in the September 2016 Embellishment Kit) on top of my photos to bring out the golden color in my color scheme and to accent my journaling which I typed directly onto my photos.

Well, I hope I've given you LOTS of inspiration on how to use your September 2016 Hip Kits! Be sure and check out the HKC Facebook page and member forum for even more inspiration from our design team using the kits!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!
