Crazy Fun *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello, crafty friends!

I'm here today with a layout that I created using some lovely Shimmerz Paints products including Acritonez, Vibez, and Coloringz! I also shared this on the Shimmerz blog today!

I prepped the thin blue and white striped patterned paper that I chose to use for my background with some Acritonez in "3 Sheets To The Wind" and swiped it in thin layers across the paper using an old gift card. After it was almost dry, I lightly spritzed some Vibez, a pigmented spray with shimmer, in "Blue Jeans" around my page and then added a few spritzes in some "Pretty In Pink" Coloringz spray that is non-shimmering. I love a healthy mix of both! I also added a little bit of black to my background using some Acritonez in "Shimmerz Tar, Tar" and some bubble wrap to create a little more texture. Simply swipe the Acritonez on a small piece of bubble wrap with a dry paintbrush and lightly press it onto your paper!

Once that was dry, I layered a few pieces of patterned paper under my photo and placed the grouping in the middle of my layout. I also stuck a journaling card to the left side of my photo and punched out some different sized hearts in coordinating pieces of paper to add an extra shape element to my overall design.

I had some white foam stickers and phrases that I wanted to use for the title of my page, but since the white was sort of washed out for my color combo, I took some Acritonez self-priming acrylic paint in "Shimmerz Tar, Tar" and a dry paintbrush and altered the color of the foam letters.

I also added the rest of my title using a stamp and some black ink to coordinate with the rest of the letters. I added a few splotches of black Coloringz in "Night Moves", too.

Thanks so much for joining me today and don't forget that you can alter other items to go along with your color scheme just by using some Shimmerz! Have a great day, everyone!

Birthday Fun! *Shimmerz Paints*

Hey, crafty friends!

I'm sharing this layout on the Shimmerz blog today documenting my daughter's 8th birthday that I created using some Paste-eez, Vibez, and Coloringz!

I began the design for my layout with a piece of gray and white diagonal striped pattern paper and a stamp from my stash that spells out "FUN". I placed the photo of my daughter in the general area where I wanted it to be and stamped the "FUN" sentiment around my page in random places. I used some StazOn ink in black for the stamping because it dries quickly and doesn't run when I add color or watercolor ink to it.

I used a dry watercolor brush and dipped it in some Vibez, "Razzledazzle Berry" and Coloringz in "No Yoking" and "Mamma Sings the Blues" and lightly brushed the colors inside of the "FUN" stamp outlines.

Next, I added some textured dots or "sprinkles" all around my layout using a stencil and some Paste-eez smooth dimensional paste in "Baby Boy Blue". I love how the Paste-eez has a flat finish without any shimmer or shine to it.

Next, I added some letter stickers next to one of the stamped sentiments to create my title. I love how the colors mix with the pops of black and white around my page! To complete my design, I added several large fringed butterfly embellishments and called it done!

Using a stamp word phrase or sentiment and some Shimmerz Paints spray ink is a great way to add a little twist (and color) to your page or project! Thanks for joining me and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Using Stamps from the Escape the Ordinary Collection by Pinkfresh Studio

Hello, everyone!

I'm here today with two layouts that I created using the new Pinkfresh Studio collections, Escape the Ordinary and Boys Fort. I shared these on the Pinkfresh Studio blog yesterday and for these two layouts, I used some subtle stamping techniques to enhance my design, so let's check them out!
First up, I chose a photo of me and my hubby from a recent weekend getaway trip and layered a couple of 6x6 paper pad pieces from the Escape the Ordinary collection behind it.

Since the photo was taken on the sky deck of our hotel, I wanted to emulate that "high above the rest" feeling on my layout, so I used the cloud outline stamp (also from the Escape the Ordinary collection) to create an added image on the "Search" patterned paper.

I trimmed the patterned paper piece down a bit and then layered it onto the "Wander" piece of patterned paper from the collection so the blue would help make the colors in my photo pop.

I layered embellishments from the Escape the Ordinary collection around my photo and fussy-cut a few images out of the Boys Fort collection patterned paper piece, "Game On". I love how the studio puff stickers look next to the gold foiled ephemera pieces. They add just the right amount of dimension and offer a fun texture to my page.

For this next layout, I chose the "Observe" patterned paper piece from the Escape the Ordinary collection and cut it at an angle so I could layer it on top of a piece of white cardstock. I also layered a piece of the "Chase" patterned paper and the other side of the "Observe" paper to fill in the gaps and to tone down the pattern a bit.

I used the single star images from the Escape the Ordinary stamp set and after I placed the photos of me and my son taking silly selfies, I stamped around the page to help draw the eye around it.

I also added a few of the stars from the gold foiled ephemera pack and used some foam dimensional adhesive to elevate them above the stamped image. I chose a few of the stitched hearts from the Escape the Ordinary collection and layered them around my page as well for an added shape.

Stamping doesn't have to overwhelming or hard to do! Even the smallest stamped images can make a big impact on your page! I hope I've given you some subtle stamping inspiration to use on your next project...thanks so much for joining me today!
