Holiday Inspired Layouts Using the Oh Joy Collection *Pinkfresh Studio*

Hello everyone! I'm so excited because it's December which is one of my most favorite month's of the year! It's one of my favorites because nothing gets me into the holiday spirit more than scrapping some holiday-themed layouts! Today I have two layouts to share with you that I created using the fun and festive Oh Joy collection...

I used one of the lovely neutral patterned papers from the Oh Joy collection for my background and added some aqua spray ink to it using a plastic piece of packaging so it gives it a more "watercolored" look. Next, I placed two of the 3x4 gold foil journaling cards on each side of the photo of our elves and layered the holly patterned paper behind my photo.

I added a few embellishments from the collection, such as the gold mirrored stars to compliment the gold foil journaling cards, and some of the sentiment stickers to complete my page. I added my title using the lovely aqua and gold chipboard letter stickers and one of the puffy sticker sentiments.

For this next layout, I cut up three of the Oh Joy collection patterned papers into large triangles and layered them on a piece of cardstock to create my background.

Since I used the large gift tower piece I layered my photo right next to it and embellished around it using some of the gold foil stickers from the collection and several of the phrase stickers. I also placed a few of the acetate pieces to the right and left side of my photo and stamped a few images of the present around for added emphasis.

I used the aqua and gold chipboard letter stickers to create my title and added a few black ink splatters for a more whimsical look.

I hope I've given you some holiday-inspired ideas to use on your next layout or project! I love how well the Oh Joy collection coordinates with any holiday theme and color combo!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

DIY Crate Paper Chipboard Frame Tree

Hello crafty friends!

I'm way behind in my posts due to the holiday craze and the fact that we are renovating our main living area in our home right now so I apologize for the absence around here ;)

Anyway...I'm here today sharing a quick and easy DIY photo frame tree that I created using one of my favorite Crate Paper embellishments...chipboard frames!

I found the inspiration for this idea in one of my favorite home decor catalogs.  I just love how the photo frames are arranged like a tree and I knew that the Open Book Chipboard Frames would be perfect to help me mimic this idea with my craft supplies.

First, I chose the frames I wanted to use and arranged them in a "tree" shape.  Next, I printed off a few "holiday-themed" photos of my children to fit inside some of the chipboard frames.

Then I backed a few of the frames with patterned paper and a journaling card from the Notes & Things collection so I could add chipboard sticker embellishments and vellum shapes from the Open Book collection on top of them.

I used my hot glue gun to adhere the frames together, carefully overlapping each one.

I punched a hole at the top of the tree and placed some of my favorite red and white striped ribbon through the hole so I could hang the photo frame tree up, but it can also be leaned up against the wall or on top of a larger frame.

I want to wish you all a happy New Year!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Back-to-School Countdown Calendar

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

I'm sharing this back-to-school countdown calendar on the Crate Paper blog today...

I chose some of my favorite journaling cards and embellishments from the Boys Rule collection and created this countdown to the first day of school.

I layered die cut pieces, chipboard frames and stickers, and an assortment of various alpha stickers and made a tag for each day.

I arranged the tags on an open frame that has wires to clip things to and used some of the Boys Rule printed clothespins to secure some of the cards.

I numbered the cards 1-10 and wrote a little activity on the back that we could do each day before school starts like "go on a picnic", "buy school supplies", and "go out for ice cream".

This countdown calendar is a fun way to get everyone ready for back to school.  It also provides a reason to get out and do the things on your summer bucket list that you may not have had a chance to do!

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!

GB Christmas Countdown Calendar

Hello everyone!

I'm sharing how I created this Christmas Countdown Calendar on the Gossamer Blue blog today...

I used the December 2013 Life Pages Themed Add-on and the December 2013 Themed Add-on for this calendar.  The mix of bright reds, yellows, and greens paired well with all of the gold letter stickers and rub-ons from each of the kits.

I also used the exclusive stamp set in the December Life Pages Kit to create pockets (above photo) on a few of journaling cards.  I stamped the image onto some vellum and then sewed around three sides to create a little pocket to hold a chore pass or movie rental for each of my kiddos.

Since the journaling cards are 3x4, I might end up using some of them in my Life Pages December spreads as filler cards.

For more close-ups and details on how I made this calendar, be sure to stop by the GB blog!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Altered Mini Clipboard Project

Happy Friday, everyone!

I'm sharing this fun project over at the Lily Bee blog today...

I found some mini clipboards at my local Wal-Mart for under $2 a piece and decided to cover them in patterned paper and dress them up a bit!

I made three...one for a calendar, one for lists, and one for keeping receipts, tickets, etc. handy and within easy reach.  I think these would also make great displays for photos, kids art, and memorabilia.

Supplies Used:  Sweet Shoppe (Licorice Whip, Embellishment Bundle), Pinwheel (Apricot Tree, Jump Rope, Flip Flops, Embellishment Bundle, Label Stickers), Destination (Chipboard Stickers)

You can see my full post here with all of the details.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

We R Memory Keepers Guest Spot

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Today I'm being featured on the We R Memory Keepers Facebook Page and blog!  I created a layout using some products from their Feelin' Groovy collection and you can check it out here.

I also created this home decor project using some embossed stickers and some of the adorable tags from the Feelin' Groovy collection...

I created this framed wall art piece by layering tags, stickers, and buttons on a piece of 12x12 patterned paper (also from the collection).

I really liked all of the positive words and phrases from the various embossed stickers and tags and I plan on hanging it up in my children's playroom.

I added a few buttons for extra dimension and used some white spray ink for a bit of texture.

I really enjoyed working with these amazing products from We R Memory Keepers and you can check out my layout here.

Have a great day and TFL!http://wermemorykeepers.wordpress.com/2013/05/15/guest-designer-adrienne-alvis/

Hugs & Kisses

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Do you remember when I created this?

I used lots of my scrap goodies to create some Valentine home decor back in January...with full intentions to eventually turn it into a layout!

And here's what I came up with...

I used lots of Studio Calico goodies and some awesome Heidi Swapp embellishments.  The patterned paper is one of my favorites from Maggie Holmes.

This layout has a little bit of everything I love...die cuts, ampersands, a doily, arrows, bling, ink splotches, and of course, one of my absolute all time favorite family photos!  :)

Hugs and kisses to you!  TFL!
