December Daily (Day 18-25)

Happy Thursday, friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  I ended up with the flu two days before and I'm just now starting to feel like myself again.

Here's the rest of my December Daily 2012...

My album turned out super thick and chunky...I think I will opt for a bigger size next year, but only time will tell because the smaller size was nice to finish in a flash.  Cheers to the completion of my 2nd December Daily!

Have a great day!  TFL!!!

December Daily (Day 11 - 15)

Happy Wednesday!  Here's a scary thought...a week from today Christmas will be over...uh, yeah...

Anyhoo, here's a few more pages form my December Daily...enjoy!

Day 11 was very ordinary around our house.  The kids spent the evening finalizing their Christmas lists.

Day 12 was super cool because it was 12.12.12 and I took 12 photos to mark the day, although only a few made it into my DD...

I used a PSE template to fit more photos on my pages.  This album is getting so chunky that I can barely close it!

Day 13 was Jubal's kindergarten Christmas program.  He was so nervous about it all week, but came out like a shining star that night!

He's the one in the red button-down shirt :)

Day 14 was tough.  I debated on whether or not to post this page, but it was sort of therapeutic for me to do so.

On Day 15 we took the kids to the local light display in our town.  It's one of our favorite family traditions and we really enjoyed ourselves.  Avery was the only Alvis kid that was brave enough to sit on Santa's lap...she doesn't mess around when it comes to asking for princess dresses and Barbie houses, ha!

This year, I've been finding it easier to do my DD in big chunks rather than working on it everyday.  I hope that I can continue this process because I plan on tackling Project Life again this year.  We shall see.

Have a great day and TFL!

December Daily (Day 6 - 10)

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  It's 12.12.12 and I plan on doing another Daily Dozen (12 on 12) to record this awesome numerical occurrence :)  Hopefully, I'll have all my pics posted on here tomorrow!

I have another DD post for you today...

I was still feeling pretty sick during Day 6 & 7 so I didn't have a lot of great photos to document.  I did manage to bake a few batches of cookies for a cookie exchange I missed due to being sick and my little girl and I spent most of our weekend snuggled up on the couch.

So far, these are the only days of my DD that share a page spread.

On Day 8 I started feeling a little bit better so I addressed my Christmas cards and put them in the mail...

On Day 9 we decorated our tree...it had come via FedEx on Thursday so I was anxious to get it into some water.

Jubal brought his gingerbread house home on Day 10...I can't believe it survived the bus ride!

I placed the badge on top of the transparency like I did for my title page.  The die cut trees and wood veneer snowflakes are attached to the "JOY" page.

So how is your DD coming along?  I hope you have a great day!

Thanks for looking :)

December Daily (Day 1 - 5)

Happy Monday!  I've been quite sick the past several days, but I'm on the mend and I thought I would share some of my December Daily pages with you today.

This is my second year doing a DD and I've forgotten how much I really treasure this special time during the year.  Yes, it's busy and somewhat stressful, but when I look through my album from last year all I can remember is the wonderful moments my family and I shared together throughout the month.

I already posted my album cover last week so let's jump right in with Day 1 - 5...

I used many different products throughout this album, but mainly I stuck with my SC December Daily Kit , the 25 Days Class KitKelly Purkey's December Daily Kit and a lot of wonderful journaling cards and printables from Hello Forever.  If you have any questions or are wondering about a certain product, feel free to leave a comment and I will be happy to reply :)

For the opening (title) page I used the chipboard page that came with the SC Kit and some gold paint and glitter.  I knew I wanted to keep it simple and the "2012" badge (from Kelly Purkey) is actually attached to a transparency.

Day 1 was all about holiday decor and getting the house together.  I always order poinsettias to place around our home every year.

On Day 2, I ventured to Target for the first time in months and spent most of my afternoon browsing their beautiful holiday collections and pretty much wishing I could change everything I had already put up in my house!  Ha!

We were experiencing very warm weather that day and I decided to document that fact using a piece of snowflake vellum (from Kelly Purkey) that I placed over the shot of my dashboard temp reading.  I punched a hole out where only the outdoor temperature would be in focus, kind of like the blur button on Instagram, which was my inspiration behind the whole idea.

Day 3 was fairly ordinary.  I caught my daughter listening to one of those recordable books from Hallmark that my mother had given her last year.  She loves that book and it stays out all year :)

On Day 4, Avery and I hung the stockings up on the banister and put out a few more decorations.

Day 5 was the day I got sick.  The only thing I did that day, other than my normal "mommy duties", was try to soothe my sore throat with some peppermint hot chocolate from McDonald's.  It was yummy, but I ended up resorting to Chloraseptic instead.

I sewed a sequin pocket on my page since I added an extra journaling card on the left.

Well, that's the first five days of my DD...I'll have more pages for you on Wednesday, so until then!

TFL!!!

December Daily - Here We Go!

It's that time of year again...December Daily time!!!!!  I'm very excited to be embarking on this amazing project for the second year in a row.  I finished my cover about a week ago and so far that's all I have done.  I'm waiting on a few supplies to arrive in the mail before I really go to town on my album's insides.

I used gold embossing powder, Versamark Ink, and my heat gun to emboss the chevron and the "<3 december" stamped images on my cover.

I like how the cover turned out, except that the inside pages will probably be a bit bolder in color, but I'm okay with that...it doesn't always have to be matchy-matchy :)

This year I'm using supplies for my December Daily album from Studio Calico, Freckled Fawn, and Kelly Purkey.

Have a great day and TFL!!!
