Dreams Are For Chasing *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello, friends!  I'm here today with a layout that I created using some gorgeous Coloringz and Paste-eez from Shimmerz Paints!

I chose a piece of cardstock that I had used from a previous project that had been through my Silhouette machine and had nine large hearts cut out of it to use for my background design. I simply placed the heart cut-outs over another solid piece of cardstock and used some Coloringz in Pretty in Pink, Peachy Keen, and No Yoking to create an ombre effect on my page.

After the spray ink dried, I grabbed a triangle stencil from my stash and some Paste-eez, a smooth dimensional paste that has a flat finish, in Tree Hugger and placed a random pattern of triangles across the ombre hearts.

I layered my photo on top of some patterned paper tags and scattered some butterfly shapes that I fussy-cut and completed my page. I also sprinkled a few drops of Coloringz in Night Moves, which is black without any shimmer, to coordinate with the pops of black in the pattern papers I chose and my title, Dreams Are For Chasing.

Don't be afraid to get creative with your leftover scrap pieces, especially if they have shapes or images cut out of them! They make great stencils and page accents.

Thanks so much for joining me here and I hope you have a fabulous day!

First Day 2017 *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello, crafty peeps! I have this layout that I created using some of my favorite Shimmerz products documenting my kids' first day back to school up on the Shimmerz Paints blog today. I seriously can't believe how much they grew this summer and are starting another year so soon!

With most of my layouts, I usually choose a piece of patterned paper or cardstock first and then add some Shimmerz to create or enhance the background. For this layout, I swiped some Acritonez self-priming acrylic paste in 3 Sheets to the Wind across the stripes on the patterned paper using the flat end of an old gift card and then chose some Coloringz spray inks in No Yoking, Pretty in Pink, and Oh Say Can U Sea to lightly mist on top of the Acritonez after it dried a bit.

I also lightly dabbed some of the excess Coloringz ink up using a paper towel so it muted the effect of the color a little bit.

I felt like my page needed some more dimension, so I grabbed some Dazzlerz texture paste in Tutti Frutti, which is a beautiful light pink color with just a hint of shimmer, and a stencil so I could add some smaller confetti style dots around my layout. I also accented my page using some punched out stars and enamel dots to mix up the dimension and detail.

I love how well the colors turned out using the Shimmerz and how fun and happy the overall design of my page turned out!

Thanks so much for joining me and I hope you have a great day!

New Collection from Pinkfresh Studio!

Hello, crafty friend!

I'm so excited to be sharing these layouts that I created using the newest collections from Pinkfresh Studio, Escape the Ordinary and Boys Fort, with you today!

For my first layout, I chose the "Discover" patterned paper from the Escape the Ordinary collection as my background paper. I used a stencil and some pale blue texture paste from my stash to create some heart icons and ink spatters to enhance the colors of the photo I chose of me and my daughter getting ready to watch fireworks this past 4th of July.

I layered a piece of patterned paper from the Escape the Ordinary 6x6 paper pad behind my photo and used some foam adhesive to create a little dimension. I layered several embellishments from the collection around my photo such as the studio puff stickers, gold foil ephemera, and some lovely stitched hearts to accent my design. I also added my title using some of the beautiful leatherette alpha stickers towards the bottom of my page.

For my next layout, I used items and patterned paper from the Boys Fort collection...

I chose the "Tough" piece of patterned paper for my background and kept my design simple by utilizing lots of round elements on my page. I layered a piece of patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad behind the black and white photo of me and my husband to make it pop off the page. I also used a few circle punches from my stash and the same patterned paper that is layered behind my photo to create circles that I placed around my layout using some foam dimensional adhesive. I also added some of the ephemera triangles from the Boys Fort collection to draw the eye around my page as well.

I added the title of my layout on the left side of my photo using some ephemera, alpha, and chipboard alpha stickers from the collection and placed them around the "life" sentiment that was already printed on the patterned paper. I love how the mixed fonts look together and add some variety to my longer title!

To finish, I added some black ink splatters and created an embellishment cluster to the right of my photo using some screen printed wood stickers, wooden buttons, and a fabric tenant. I love how the deep, primary colors of the Boys Fort collection go well with any theme or project!

Thanks so much for dropping by and checking out my layouts using the newest collections from Pinkfresh Studio! I hope you have a great day!
