Hello everyone!
I have the start of my December Documented 2015 album to share with you today. I'm also sharing this post on the
Hip Kit Club blog as well :)
I used the
November 2015 Hip Kits and the
December Documented 2015 Daily Kit from Hip Kit Club to create my album this year. At first I was stumped on how to design my album cover for quite some time but I knew if I was patient an idea would arise. And it did! I placed several of the die cut word phrases from Pinkfresh Studio in a tree shape and added a flair button and a few silver glitter foam stickers for embellishments. This is a completely different album cover style for me, but I love how it turned out!
I placed a beautiful gold foil letterpress December calendar from Studio Calico on the inside of my album and jazzed up our family Christmas card with some acrylic embellishments that are exclusive to the
HKC December Documented 2015 Daily Kit.
The calendar and the Christmas card are two items that I always include in my December album each year.
I embellished the back side of my Christmas card page using a
November cut file and some letter stickers from Pinkfresh Studio that are available
here.
Here's a look at Day 1...
I always like to include a photo of my kiddos for the first day of December. Even though I took the photo on Thanksgiving, it was the most recent pic that I had of them all together.
This year I decided to use my computer for my journaling. I printed my words out on vellum and placed it in a die cut frame from Pinkfresh Studio to highlight a few thoughts I had about the upcoming month.
And here's a look at my spread for Day 2 - 5...
I kept my overall design clean and simple, with a few fun embellies such as the sequins and wood veneer pieces.
Documenting festive drinks and special holiday coffees is a fun photo prompt that I like to include in my December album. This year I'm all about Moscow Mules!!! If you haven't heard of or ever tried one here's a
great recipe and they're super easy to make! I also have a few other recipes using different variations on my
Pinterest board.
Once again, I squeezed my journaling onto a piece of wood grain patterned paper using my computer and one of my favorite fonts.
Day 4 & 5
I added a flip-up journaling pocket under the "five" acrylic square using some washi from Freckled Fawn and my sewing machine for something a little more interactive. As you can see we got a new puppy so I'm sure he'll be popping up all over this album, lol!
Making my December Documented album is one of my most favorite yearly album that I create for my family. It is one of their favorite albums to look through throughout the year as well. If you haven't started on your album yet, I hope I've given you some inspiration and a few ideas to get you going!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
