Pinkfresh Studio Let Your Heart Decide Blog Hop!

Hello, Pinkfresh fans! I'm up next on the "Let Your Heart Decide" Blog Hop lineup and I created this layout using this gorgeous new collection and one of my favorite photos from our recent family vacation to the Dominican Republic...

I started by placing one of the 6x6 patterned paper pieces on top of one of the more subtle 12x12 patterned papers from the "Let Your Heart Decide" collection and placed my photo directly in the middle of it. Next, I layered several of the die cuts and layered stickers from the collection around my photo. I was really inspired by the floral pieces and how they looked next to the colors in my photograph.

I also added several of the wood stickers to my floral embellishment clusters to add some extra dimension and texture contrast. I also layered a few of the puffy stickers around my photo as well and used the puffy letter stickers to complete my title.

I also journaled a bit on one of the label stickers and placed it under the left side of my photo. I also added an embellishment cluster under the right side of my photo and a little towards the bottom to help draw the eye around my page.

What do you think about this lovely new collection? For a chance to win the giveaway of the Let Your Heart Decide collection, all you have to do is comment on each blog in the hop and a random winner will be drawn on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018. Comments will close at 11:59pm CST on Thursday, February 1st, 2018.

Elle's Studio Guest Designer!

Hey everyone and happy 2018!

I'm excited to announce that I am a guest designer over at Elle's Studio this month! I am designing three projects using their latest releases and here is my first project...

I used a piece of kraft cardstock for my background paper and placed the “I Love You More Than All The Stars In The Sky” die cut next to the photo of my husband and I, which I layered on top of the striped patterned paper from the XOXO 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack.

Next, I visually balanced out my design by using two more patterned paper pieces from the XOXO 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack and cut them to fill in the white space under my photo and the sentiment die cut piece. Since I love to layer and create embellishment clusters, I utilized the space on the patterned paper pieces under my photo for just that.

I placed several die cut and Hand Drawn Acrylic Hearts and tags from the Love You Die Cut on the patterned paper squares and I also used some of the leftover pieces from the striped patterned paper that I layered under my photo to create a pocket to house my journaling card, which I sewed onto the page.

I simply placed the piece of patterned paper onto my page and used my sewing machine to stitch around three sides of it to create a little pocket. This is a great way to add texture to your page while hiding some of your private journaling!

I also included several of the Star Chipboard and Hugs and Kisses Puffy Stickers to add some dimension and color pop to my design. I love how the softer colors from the XOXO 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack look paired with the pops of black and white!

You can check out my full post on the Elle's Studio blog...thanks so much for stopping by and I hope your New Year is off to a great start!

Pinkfresh Studio Playing Favorites Blog Hop

Hello, Pinkfresh Studio fans! If you're hopping along with us today then you probably came from Amanda-Jayne Baldwin's blog. I'm the last stop on the hop so welcome! I chose to create a layout with one of my favorite photos of my family using the Escape the Ordinary collection...

The photo of us isn't amazing, or extraordinary, or professional by any means, but it's my favorite because it's one of those special moments captured when we are all together. As my children get older, that seems to be a rare occurrence these days. So I printed it off a little larger than I normally do for my layout photos and placed it on top of my FAVORITE patterned paper piece from the Escape the Ordinary collection.

I used gold foil letter stickers from the December Days collection because the red really stood out and popped with the rest of my color scheme. I added the words, "Together We Are"... and placed a sentiment piece of patterned paper from the Escape the Ordinary collection below it to complete my title.

I also added lots of triangle-shaped puffy stickers from the collection and kept my overall design simple and minimal, but still visually balanced and interesting thanks to the lovely puffy stickers!

Thanks so much for hopping along with us today! Be sure and comment on each blog to be entered to win an amazing prize from Pinkfresh Studio! Comments will close on Friday, January 5th, 2018 at 11:59pm CST and a random winner will be announced on Monday, January 8th, 2018! Good luck and happy New Year from Pinkfresh Studio!

Cheer Captured *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello crafty friends!

I'm here with a festive layout that I created using one of my favorite holiday photos and some beautiful Shimmerz paints

To begin, I used a piece of white card stock and some Acritonez, which is a self-priming acrylic paint with a matte finish, in "3 Sheets to the Wind" as a base for my design and to help the Vibez and Coloringz colors pop! I used a piece of leftover packaging to create the design that you can see below...

I chose the Coloringz, which are non-shimmering, in "Pretty in Pink" and "Oh Say Can U Sea" because the colors coordinated so well with the patterned paper that I chose for my layout! I also added some Vibez in "Cold As Ice" because it was the perfect shade of blue and added some shimmer to my page.

As you can see in the photo above, I also added some Texturez shimmering, dimensional paste in Crushed Coral to my design by spreading it over a stencil that matched the design of the patterned paper that I chose to use.

I completed my design by adding a title to my photo and by placing some glittery pops of red around my page. I really love incorporating non-traditional Christmas colors on my holiday layouts!

I hope everyone had a fabulous and festive holiday season! Thank you so much for joining me today!

Pinkfresh Studio December Days Blog Hop

Hello, everyone! If you're hopping along with us today for the December Days Blog Hop and giveaway, then you probably just came from the Pinkfresh Studio blog! I'm up next with a layout that I created using the festive December Days collection from Pinkfresh Studio!

I started my design by choosing the beautiful multi-colored snowflake patterned paper from the collection and misting it with some baby blue hued spray ink. I layered a few of the papers from the 6x6 paper pad underneath my photo and then used one of the 3x4 gold foiled cards and placed it on the right side of my photo to visually balance my design.

I gathered up lots of beautiful embellishments from the December Days collection to add dimension and color pops around my page. I layered several of the gold foiled die cuts and cardstock stickers around my photo and placed some of the puffy stickers around the sides of the 6x6 patterned paper pieces. I also added lots of the adorable wooden buttons to help draw the eye around my design.

Be sure and hop along with us today and get a chance to win an amazing December Days Embellishment Package (photo below)! All you have to do is comment on each blog in the hop and a winner will be randomly selected! Cute Cousins *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello crafty friends!

I'm here today with a layout that I created using some lovely paint products from Shimmerz! I was really inspired by the colors in the photos that I used to mix up some metal colors!

To begin my design, I sprayed the musical note patterned paper with some Shimmeringz spray ink in "Heavy Metal" and Vibez spray ink in "Glorious Day". The shimmery sprays look so beautiful together with the contrasting mixed metal tones which are very on-trend right now!

After the ink dried, I used a stencil and some Texturez shimmering, dimensional paste in "Gold Mine" to create some dimension behind my photos. I love how the gold makes the red accents in my photos pop!

I also added a few ink splatters using some Coloringz in "Night Moves"...it's the perfect black color that doesn't contain any shimmer and really helps draw the eye around my page.

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope I've inspired you to mix up those metals and create something amazing!

#HOCO '17 | Adrienne Alvis

Hello, everyone!

I'm here with a layout that I created using some Vibez, Coloringz, Texturez, and Shimmerz for the Shimmerz Paints blog today!

My son and his girlfriend recently went to his homecoming dance together and I managed to get some really great photos of them! I was inspired by the colors in the photo for this page, so I used some Kraft card stock and some Texturez in "Tidy Widy" and a plus sign stencil from my stash to create the dimensional background effect. I layered a single, wide, strip of patterned paper vertically down my page and used some Shimmerz in "Golden Wheat" to color the neutral striped piece of patterned paper. I simply swiped a dry paintbrush in the Shimmerz and brushed it on, making sure to not use too much.

After the Texturez dimensional paste dried, I used some Coloringz in "Night Moves", which is the perfect black, to add a few ink splatters around my page. I also forgot to mention that I lightly misted the Kraft card stock with some Vibez in "Glorious Day" to add just the right amount of shimmer to this layout. It's a little hard to tell in the photo how that looks.

I used several coordinating embellishments to complete my page and was really happy how this layout turned out!

I hope I've given you some inspiration for you next project using some Shimmerz Paints products! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
