Hello Little One *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello, everyone! I was up on the Shimmerz blog a couple of days ago where I created this layout using lots of Shimmerz paints, including one of the newest releases...Acritonez!!!

My newest niece was born this past Thanksgiving and I just love this sweet photo of her taken when she was just a couple of days old! I was really inspired to use some soft colors and gold accents so I started by using a stencil and some Dazzlerz in Tutti Frutti to create the heart background on my striped patterned paper.

I also used some Dazzlerz in Sea U In The Mornin', which is a lovely minty-aqua color, to transfer the sentiment "Love You To The Moon and Back" onto another piece of patterned paper. After the Dazzlerz dried, I used a piece of plastic packaging (aka "the packaging technique") to add some Coloringz mists in No Yoking and Pretty In Pink to that same piece of patterned paper. I added my title to the paper piece and layered a few die cut floral embellishments from Crate Paper around the photos of my niece and around my page.

I really love the color of the Tutti Frutti Dazzlerz and although it's really hard to see in the photos, the hearts turned out a little too bright for my taste on this particular layout. So to remedy the situation I decided to use some Acritonez in 3 Sheets To The Wind on top of the hearts to tone them down and it totally worked! I just took a small sponge and dipped it into the Acritonez and dabbed the white paint over the hearts. The dabbing effect also added a little extra dimension to my page as well, but it is a little hard to tell from the photos.

I completed my layout using some Oh Say Can U See Coloringz on top of the hearts using the packaging method once again and added a few more gold embellishments!

Snowflakes Are Falling *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello everyone!

Today I have a winter-themed layout to share with you that I shared on the Shimmerz Paints blog yesterday...

I started by choosing some tree-shaped die cuts that I had previously cut out using some charcoal gray cardstock and my Silhouette. I loved the dark gray color of the paper, but I wanted to alter it a bit so that it fit better with the photo of the lovely snow scene that I had captured a few years ago so I used some "Frosty's Buns" Inklingz to add some shimmer and dimension to my trees.

I simply added a little bit a water directly to the tub of Inklingz and swirled it around for a few moments using my watercolor brush. After the ink's consistency was to my liking, I used my watercolor brush to lightly swipe it across the tree die cuts.

Next, I used my watercolor brush again and dipped it into some lovely "Golden Wheat" Shimmerz and made small brush strokes around some of the trees' edges to enhance the overall color scheme of my layout. I love using non-traditional color schemes for winter photos, don't you?

To complete my page, I sprinkled a few drops of the Shimmeringz spray, "Heavy Metal" around my layout for added shimmer and a little bit of sparkle.

This Is What It's All About

Happy Friday, everyone!

I'm here today with a layout that I created using some Vibez and Texturez paste in some lovely soft hues that I shared on the Shimmerz blog yesterday...

For my background design, I started by lightly spritzing some Glorious Day Vibez spray ink onto my background patterned paper. It's sort of hard to see in the photos, but the Glorious Day ink gives my background a soft and shimmery gold look.

Next, I used a large 12x12 stencil from my stash and placed it on top of my patterned paper after the spray ink dried. I used some washi tape to keep the stencil in place while I added some Patina Texturez paste to a few large areas with a small spatula.

I love how the color turned out and how the Texturez paste gives my page so much dimension!

After the Texturez Paste dried, I layered lots of different patterned papers from the Open Book collection from Maggie Holmes under the photo of my daughter. I also used several die cut leaves and some rub-ons from the collection to accent my design.

I splattered a few ink drops using some Coloringz Night Moves spray ink for a little contrast and to coordinate with the other black elements on my page.

Shimmerz Paints Used: Texturez - Patina; Vibez - Glorious Day; Coloringz - Night Moves

I hope I've inspired you to break out some paint for your next crafty project! Don't hesitate to get a little messy and try a few different Shimmerz products on your page for a really lovely result. Thanks for joining me today and I hope you have a great weekend!

Pumpkin Guts *Shimmerz Paints*

Hey everyone!

I'm here today with a layout I shared on the Shimmerz Paints blog where I created a fun background using some Dazzlerz dimensional paste and Coloringz spray ink...

I started by creating an easy and messy background design using some Halloween-inspired Dazzlerz colors. I simply dry brushed them onto a piece of white cardstock using a large paint brush.

Before the Dazzlerz dried, I splattered a few drops of Coloringz "Night Moves" spray ink around my page. Once my background was dry, I started to layer my photo, embellishments, and letter stickers on top to complete my design.

I hope you enjoy my process video for this layout!

Happy Together *Shimmerz*

Hello everyone!

I shared this layout on the Shimmerz Paints blog yesterday. I used some of my favorite summer-inspired hues of the Coloringz, Creameez, and Dazzlerz paints from Shimmerz

I started by lightly misting the striped patterned paper that I chose to use as my background with some Don't Citron Me Coloringz spray.

After the spray ink dried, I used a stencil and some of the Dazzlerz Pucker Up Pink dimensional paste to create the tiny triangles that I placed across my page. I love how the Dazzlerz dimensional paste really adds some brightness and texture to my layout, with just the right amount of color pop!

After the paste dried, I started maneuvering my photos and embellishments around until I was satisfied with their placement. I typed my journaling and printed it off to fit inside one of the die cut frames I used from Hip Kit Club and then layered even more items here and there on my page.

I wanted to add a little more color to my background paper, so I poured a little bit of the Well Blue Me Down and Oh Say Can U Sea Coloringz mist into separate containers and used the lids to create the circle array I added to my layout. I love how simple and subtle the circular shapes came out using this technique!

To complete my layout, I layered my title "Happy Together" toward the bottom of my page and used some Creameez Lettuce Get Together to the white "happy" phrase using a watercolor brush so I could coordinate it with my color scheme.

I love how well the color scheme on my layout turned out thanks to the Shimmerz paints I used! I hope I've given you some summer-themed inspiration for your next page and a new technique or two for you to try!

Go See Explore *Shimmerz Paints*

Hello everyone!

I'm guest designing over at Shimmerz Paints this month and I have another layout that I created using a mix of Coloringz, Creameez, and Dazzlerz dimensional paste to share with you!

I started creating this layout by misting some of the Coloringz Night Moves spray onto my background patterned paper. I just randomly picked an area to spray and added a few larger drops from the cap as well.

Next, after the mist dried completely, I used one of my favorite acrylic masks and placed it on top of the misted area and secured it using some washi tape so it wouldn't move around while I added the Dazzlerz Spun Sugar dimensional paste.

As you can see in the photo below, I didn't lay the dimensional paste on super thick because I wanted to add only a slight bit of texture and dimension.

After the paste dried, I added a 12" long strip of patterned paper that I placed my photo and page title on and adhered it using some foam tape.

Using a watercolor brush, I added some of the Creameez Ride the Tide watercolor to the chipboard letters in my title and squirted a few drops around my entire layout to coordinate with the light blue elements in the patterned paper I chose.

After placing a few more embellishments around my photo and adding my journaling, my page was complete!

As I mentioned in my previous guest post, I was always a little shy about using a lot of paint and watercolors on my layouts, but the Shimmerz paints are so easy to use and I'm always amazed at how quickly they dry!

Thanks so much for joining me and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Shimmerz Guest Designer!

Hello everyone!

I'm so excited to be guest designing for Shimmerz over the next couple of months! I have to admit that while I love adding a touch of mist or watercolor to my layouts, sometimes I get really scared that I might end up hating or ruining my entire layout so I end up not using paint very often. I know that's really crazy, but I'm a perfectionist (to a fault) and sometimes it just scares me, lol! Anyway...I overcame all of my fears and perfectionist tendencies and created one of my all time FAVORITE layouts using some amazing products from Shimmerz!!!

I started by using a watercolor brush and dipping it into several of my favorite Shimmerz Coloringz spray mists on top of some white card stock. The Coloringz colors I used were Mandarin Mai Tai, Well Blue Me Down, Pink Stilettos, Pretty In Pink, and Don't Citron Me. I also added a few drips and splatters of each color as well.

Next, I placed some coordinating acetate phrases from Freckled Fawn on top of the color swatches. The Shimmerz Coloringz inks matched the phrases almost perfectly!

After I placed the acetate phrases on my page, I machine-stitched them down and layered several other phrases from Heidi Swapp on top of them for added dimension and color. I colored each of the Heidi Swapp Watercolor Words using coordinating Creameez colors such as Just Peachie, Good Ol' Summer Time, and Boogie Boardin's Blue with my watercolor brush.

I finished my layout by including the funny faced photo of my daughter and some shiny sequins on top of the white card stock and then I placed the card stock on top of a rainbow chevron striped piece of patterned paper from Bella Blvd.

If you're like me and scared of using paint, ink, and watercolors on your page then I hope I've inspired you to take the plunge and just do it! I promise that it will be worth the worry and I'm sure, just like me, you'll absolutely LOVE the results!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!
