Pinkfresh Studio Boys Fort Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Hello, everyone! I'm so excited to be participating in another amazing blog hop for Pinkfresh Studio's newest collection, Boys Fort! If you're following along with the hop, you just came from Flora Mónika Farkas' blog.

I chose the Thumb's Up and You Rule pieces of patterned paper for my background and used a little bit of spray ink to add a bit of blue to the bottom piece.

I added two photos of my youngest son and his fur baby and placed one of the 6x6 paper pad patterned paper pieces behind them to add some color pop. I also added one of the fabric tenants from the Boys Fort collection on top of the left photo to fill in some white space.

I added three embellishment clusters to draw the eye across my layout. The wood button stickers and screen printed wood stickers are perfect for adding some dimension and contrast to any project! I also placed a few of the black and white phrase stickers and ephemera bits in a few spots and lifted them by adding some dimensional adhesive.

I also journaled on one of the ephemera tags and placed it near the bottom of my layout. I just love the how the black and white elements of this collection look mixed with the deeper primary colors!

Next up on the hop is Kathleen Graumüller's blog! Be sure and follow along and leave a comment on each blog in the hop to be entered to win the ENTIRE Boys Fort Collection!!! Comments will close on September 8th, 2017 at 11:59pm CST and two random winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 14th, 2017! Good luck and happy hopping!

Cute Kings *Shimmerz Paints

Hello, crafty friends!

I'm here with a colorful layout that I shared on the Shimmerz Paints blog yesterday using some Coloringz and Acritonez!

I took my two youngest kiddos back-to-school shopping recently and we stopped at a Burger King on the way home, which was a treat since our hometown doesn't have one. I snapped a cute photo of them wearing their BK king hats and printed off three of the same photo, but using different color combinations...black and white, full color, and one that was more muted.

I grabbed a piece of patterned paper from my stash and took some Acritonez in "Pinkadelic" and an old credit card and swiped the color on in different areas. I spritzed some Coloringz in "Mandarin Mai Tai" and "Peachy Keen" on some larger strips of black and white patterned paper and dabbed off the excess using a paper towel.

I adhered the black and white patterned paper strips on top of the pink and yellow patterned paper and then added some Acritonez in "Shimmerz Tar Tar" to a piece of product packaging and used the bubble wrap technique to create the black splotches at the top left of my page.

After I placed my photos on my page, I used a few wooden embellishments for added dimension and some gold Thickers to create my title. I love how fun and happy this page is! The orange, yellow, and pink really set off the black and white accents, don't you think?

Thanks so much for joining me...and I encourage you to get out your Shimmerz in your favorite color schemes and create a new layout using some of your favorite photos today!

Pinkfresh Studio Design Team Lineup!

Hello, everyone! Pinkfresh Studio is revealing the new design team and one of their newest collections, Escape the Ordinary, today so I'm super excited to be participating in this blog hop! If you're following along on this hop then you just came from Julia Stainton's blog.

My name is Adrienne Alvis and I have been designing for Pinkfresh Studio for almost 3 years now. I am a married, mother of three and I live in Southern Illinois. Other than paper crafting, I love to read, travel, run, and just hang out with my family. My husband is a farmer and has a full-time job as a sprinkler fitter and I just recently became a LuLaRoe fashion consultant so life around our place is very busy! My children are growing up quickly and very involved in school and sports, so paper crafting is a great way for me to relax and focus on my creative side.

I used the Escape the Ordinary collection to create this layout documenting a moment where I stopped and made a little detour...

This collection is so amazing! When I first opened it up, I was so excited to see so many gorgeous colors, embellishments, and patterned papers that are simply stunning! I started with one of the patterned papers from the Escape the Ordinary collection as my background an added some paint splotches and splatters to give it some added dimension.

I layered a piece of patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad under my photo and used some dimensional adhesive to elevate it a bit. I placed several of the Escape the Ordinary puffy stickers around the triangular design of the patterned paper and layered one on top of my photo utilizing some of the white space.

I also added a few of the gold foiled die cut butterflies from the collection around my page to create a visual triangle. I also placed one of the sentiment die cuts under my photo for an added pop of color and one near the bottom of my page to help direct the eye around my layout.

Isn't Pinkfresh Studio's newest collection, Escape the Ordinary, just gorgeous! Be sure and follow along with our blog hop today to see even more amazing products created with the new collection and meet the new designers! And if you leave a comment on each blog in the hop, you will be entered into a giveaway to receive one of two prizes! Yes!...that means that 2 winners will be randomly drawn to receive either a set of stamps and die cuts worth $100 or the entire Escape the Ordinary Collection!!!

Next up on the hop is Laura Contoni-Bassen! You can find her blog here!

Thanks so much for joining me today!

Stay Wild *Shimmerz Paints

Hello, crafty friends!

I shared this layout on the Shimmerz Paints blog yesterday using some beautiful ocean-hued Coloringz and Vibez paints!

I love summer-themed layouts, so I knew that I had to document my daughter's favorite new toy that she got this year for the pool! A mermaid tail!!! I wanted the background of my page to emulate the water and the scales on the mermaid tail, so I grabbed a piece of white card stock and some Coloringz in "Well Blue Me Down" and "Oh Say Can U Sea", as well as some Vibez shimmering spray ink in "Jeni B Blue" and some old product packaging to create my design...

I simply spritzed the Coloringz and Vibez inks onto a piece of bubble wrap and pressed it against the white card stock in a random pattern. I love how the Coloringz inks are non-shimmering and how the Vibez inks are shimmering so it gives my page a great mixture of shine!

After the inks dried, I took some Coloringz in "Pretty In Pink" and dropped a few splatters around my page for added color contrast and to coordinate with the pink in my daughter's mermaid tail. For my title, Stay Wild, I blended some Acritonez in "Pinkadelic" and a little bit of "Pretty In Pink" Coloringz with a small paint brush and sewed it to my layout.

I love the effect that the bubble wrap technique gave my background and I think the colors of the paints match perfectly with the colors in my photo!

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope I've given you a little inspiration for your next project...have a wonderful day!
