October 2016 Project Life and A Layout! *Hip Kit Club*

Hello, crafty friends! Today I have two projects to share with you that I created using the October 2016 Hip Kits that were on the Hip Kit Club blog yesterday!

First up, is my Project Life spread for the month of October...

I used items from the October 2016 Project Life Kit to complete this month's spread. The HKC exclusive Project Life cards are always the inspiration for my color schemes in my PL album and they always pair so well with my photos. Since I use a 9x12 sized album, I often have to cut down the 4x6 cards into 3x4, but I always love how they end up looking after I embellish them!

I used the Simple Stories Posh Collection letter stickers to accent the "Hello Oct." PL card that I sized down to 3x4 and added some stitching and gold glitter enamel dots to dress it up.

Since I had a lot of fall-themed photos in this month's spread, I made sure to accent my journaling cards so they coordinated with my overall color scheme. The coral and aqua-hued painted wood veneer embellishments from We R Memory Keepers (available in the October 2016 Main Kit) really added pops of color in just the right spots on my spread.

Next up, I have a 12x12 layout that I created using one of the cut files from this month and items from Simple Stories and We R Memory Keepers that are available in the October 2016 Embellishment Kit.

I had some really great photos of my daughter that I took after we bought pumpkins to decorate around our house for fall so I printed several of them off and layered them on top of the square style cut file available in the October 2016 downloads on the HKC website.

The photos fit perfectly around the cut file so I created a loose grid design using smaller embellishments that I clustered around the photos to sort of connect them all together.

I chose the navy blue patterned paper by Dear Lizzy from the October 2016 Paper Kit to use for my cut file because I love how it popped against the polka-dotted patterned paper from Simple Stories. It also coordinated wonderfully with my photos.

I layered accent stickers, chipboard elements, and ephemera from We R Memory Keepers and Simple Stories around my page for embellishments.

I really love how this page turned out. Be sure and check out my process video for both of these projects below!

Pumpkin Guts *Shimmerz Paints*

Hey everyone!

I'm here today with a layout I shared on the Shimmerz Paints blog where I created a fun background using some Dazzlerz dimensional paste and Coloringz spray ink...

I started by creating an easy and messy background design using some Halloween-inspired Dazzlerz colors. I simply dry brushed them onto a piece of white cardstock using a large paint brush.

Before the Dazzlerz dried, I splattered a few drops of Coloringz "Night Moves" spray ink around my page. Once my background was dry, I started to layer my photo, embellishments, and letter stickers on top to complete my design.

Shimmerz Paints Used: Dazzlerz - Foiled Again, Licorice Stick, Dreamscicle; Coloringz - Night Moves

I hope you enjoy my process video for this layout!

Thanks so much for joining me and I hope you have a great day!

Love Today *Freckled Fawn*

Hello crafty friends!

I shared this layout on the Freckled Fawn blog the other day using the October 2016 "Home" Embellishment Kit.

I started my layout by placing several of the "Home" Journaling Cards down the middle of my page to create a sort of loose grid design.

I used items from the October Kit, such as the "love" flair button and the wood veneer arrows to embellish around the photos of my daughter eating her favorite summer treat.

I balanced out my design with lots of star sequins and chipboard stickers from the kit which helped add color and dimension to my layout.

I love all of the embellishments in this month's kit! They're perfect for any page or project and the bright colors coordinate so well with other papers and items from my stash!

Thanks so much for joining me today! Have a great Sunday!

I Love You To The Moon & Back *Hip Kit Club*

Hi lovely friends!

I shared this layout on the Hip Kit Club Facebook page yesterday along with another process video!

My prompt for this layout was to "create a scene". I knew immediately that the city skyline cut file available in the October 2016 downloads (free for subscribers!) would be the perfect background for my page! I also added some puffy stars using the Texturez Crushed Coral paste from Shimmerz (available in the October 2016 Color Kit) and a star stencil that I had on hand in my stash for added dimension.

After I completed my background for my layout, I printed my photos off in star shapes and layered them on top of a piece of patterned paper from the October 2016 Paper Kit and adhered them to my page using foam dimensional adhesive.

I layered a few embellishments from the October 2016 Hip Kits near the bottom of my page by the city skyline and placed my title "I Love You To The Moon & Back" on the left side using some very tiny Glue Dots.

I love the colors of this page and how well the idea for it in my head translated onto my page.

Hoco'16 *Hip Kit Club*

Hey everyone!

I shared this layout on the Hip Kit Club blog yesterday using the October 2016 Main Kit only...

My son and his girlfriend attended their first homecoming dance a couple of weeks ago and I was itching to scrap the photos that I took of them beforehand. I decided to use the October 2016 Main Kit only to showcase how versatile just one kit can be, sometimes less is more and I really liked working with a smaller array of items.

I pulled the color scheme for my page directly from my photos and then added a few touches of pink and gold for contrast.

I kept true to my design style by using lots layers on my page with the Dear Lizzy Saturday collection ephemera pack and the We R Memory Keepers Honey, I'm Home wood veneer pieces. I also layered a couple of different patterned papers from the kit as well on top of my background paper.

I've been dragging my feet about doing process videos for so long, but I finally took the plunge and created one for this layout! Pigs are flying', I tell ya! You can subscribe to my You Tube Channel here.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!

Two Fall-Inspired Layouts Using Shimmerz!

Hey everyone! I'm here with you today with two layouts that I shared on the Shimmerz blog yesterday.

First up, I have a layout that I created using some of my favorite fall-hued Shimmerz items that I paired with a cute picture of our beagle pup playing with his favorite football!

I took a piece of brown faux leather patterned paper that reminded me of a football and used some Tidy Widy Texturez paste to tone it down a bit. You can see below on the edge of the page the difference the Tidy Widy made in the way the brown paper looked.

I placed the brown paper on top of another sheet of black and white polka-dotted patterned paper and then sprinkled a few Vibez and Coloringz in Quit Yer Wine-n and No Yoking around to coordinate with the leaves I made.

To create the leaves that I lined up in a row around my photo, I used a water brush and various colors of Aqua Huez and Creameez paints to brush the colors onto several different leaf shapes that I cut out of white cardstock using my Silhouette.

I love how the oranges, reds, and yellows look against the brown paper and how much texture the leaves give my page! I completed my layout by placing a chipboard word sticker from the Maggie Holmes Gather collection under my photo for my title and journaled on a tag from my stash.

Shimmerz Paints Used: Tidy Widy Texturez, Quit Yer Wine-n Vibez, No Yoking Coloringz, Golden Wheat Shimmerz, 14 Carrots Aqua Huez, Crazy Daisy Aqua Huez, Green With Envy Aqua Huez, Just Peachie Creameez, Trippin' in the Tropics Creameez, and Great Fruit Creameez

Since I had a few leaves leftover from my layout above, I decided not to waste them and create another page!

I used a photo of my daughter playing in the leaves last year and layered a few of the leaves on a 3x4 journaling card that looks like woodgrain.

I used my brayer and some The Tide That Binds Texturez paste on a piece of white cardstock to create the colored circles. I also sprayed some No Yoking Coloringz onto it and let it dry before I used various sized circle punches to cut out the circles.

I placed the circles to help draw the eye around my page and to help soften the grid design and then sprinkled some Golden Wheat Shimmerz around for some soft sparkle.

Shimmerz Paints Used: The Tide That Binds Texturez, Golden Wheat Shimmerz, 14 Carrots Aqua Huez, Crazy Daisy Aqua Huez, Green With Envy Aqua Huez, Just Peachie Creameez, Trippin' in the Tropics Creameez, Great Fruit Creameez

Thanks for joining me today and I hope I've given you some fall layout inspiration!

Hey Girl *Hip Kit Club*

Happy Saturday, friends!

I have a new posting schedule for Hip Kit Club so I get to share another layout with you that I had on the HKC Facebook page yesterday!

I started my page design by using the Anchors Away Shimmerz paint from the September 2016 Color Kit to add some color to the black and white dotted patterned paper from the Maggie Holmes Gather Collection (available in the September 2016 Main and Paper Kits). After the paint was dry, I trimmed the edges of the patterned paper down a bit and placed it on top of the Flamingo cardstock from American Crafts.

Next, I placed one of the HKC exclusive journaling cards from the September 2016 Project Life Kit near the center of my page to house my journaling and offset the photo of my daughter from it a bit. I also placed another piece of yellow patterned paper that I had used previously to punch out some heart shapes and layered it behind my black and white photo to help it pop off of the page.

I layered lots of the Crate Paper Cute Girl Chipboard Accents from the September 2016 Embellishment Kit around my page and I just love the dimension they add! I tried to keep my design asymmetrical (when folded in half, it's not a mirror image on each side) instead of creating a normal symmetrical grid design to change up my creative process a bit.

I hope I've given you some inspiration on how to create an asymmetrical design and how to utilize all of that lovely Cute Girl Chipboard!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful long weekend!

Love This *Freckled Fawn*

Hello friends!

I have this layout that I created using the Freckled Fawn "Black & White" embellishment kit to share with you today!

I just love using black and white accents and embellishments on my pages so this kit turned out to be so easy to work with for me! I started by gathering a few items from my stash and layering the photo of my daughter on top of a few pieces of red, white, and pink patterned papers. I placed an Amy Tangerine die cut to the right of my photo and added lots of the black enamel shapes on top of it.

I placed that gorgeous black faux leather bow from the September Kit on top of one of the half circle printed wood chips and balanced out the pop of black with the "this" chipboard sticker sentiment for part of my title.

I also added some of the gorgeous gold foil heart washi and epoxy stickers around my page creating extra layers and placed a couple of the black chipboard sticker phrases around my title for added contrast.

The September 2016 embellishment kit from Freckled Fawn is just perfect for adding neutral accents to any project! You can find more inspiration on how to use the kit on the FF blog.

Thanks so much for joining me today!
