Insta Fall *Crate Paper*

Hello!

I'm over on the Crate Paper blog today sharing a layout I created using some recent photos from my Instagram feed.  I noticed I have been taking several "shoe selfie" photos since the weather has changed in our area.  I only take photos like this on my phone and I always post them to my IG account so I thought this type of themed photo set would make a great page documenting the change of season.

I arranged my photos in a grid design around two 3x4 journaling cards from the Open Book collection in the middle of my page.  I placed a chipboard frame around the bottom left photo because it was the perfect size for my 2x2 photo.

I used the wood veneer alphas from the Notes & Things collection for part of my title and backed the letters with pieces of dark, wood grained patterned paper from the Open Book collection so they stand out a bit more on my layout.

Next, I layered some ephemera and chipboard pieces from the Open Book collection on and around the two journaling cards.  I added a couple of rub-ons to the circle and the gold heart on the pink 3x4 card for some color contrast.

I layered a couple of vellum flowers under one of the fabric brads from the Open Book collection and placed it on the right side of one of my photos to draw the eye around my page.

The Open Book collection has so many great items that will pair well with any of your Instagram photos.  For some instant layout inspiration, just scroll through your IG photos and start printing!

Have a great day!

Fall Inspired Greeting Cards *October Afternoon Guest DT*

Happy Friday!

I'm sharing some fall inspired cards I created using October Afternoon's Public Library and Apple Cider collections over on the OA blog today.

I love using smaller scraps and leftover bits after I've worked with a collection to whip up a few cards.  It also helps me use up supplies and items that don't make it onto my layouts or in my PL album.

I mixed different patterned papers from the Public Library collection with journaling cards, stickers, and other embellishments from the Apple Cider collection to create these cards.

You can get more details about how I put these cards together over on the OA blog.  I'm also sharing a peek into my creative space and how I store my OA goodies in the same post so I hope you head on over there and check it out!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day :)

Week 28

Happy Monday, friends!

I was editing photos last night on my computer and found my spread from Week 28 hidden amongst some random photos so let's just call this the "lost week", lol.

Anyway, here's a look at my spread...

I used some older Studio Calico PL kits on this week's spread...summer was still in full swing so I opted for bright colors and fun embellishments to accent the season and my photos.

I need to start including more "currents" lists in my spreads so that's the next little challenge I intend to tackle as I catch up on about 10 weeks of PL this week ;)

Ahh...we were still in Kansas and it was still summer during the week of July 7-13, so sharing this spread is a little bittersweet for me.  Especially since it's been cold and rainy the last few days back home here in Illinois.

Left Side:

The "Home Is Wherever I'm With You" filler card is a free printable I found online here.  It comes in several colors and can be resized for any project.  I printed mine off on watercolor paper and misted it with some yellow spray ink to coordinate with the colors of my spread.

Right Side:

I journaled quite a bit on this week's spread and layered lots of asterisk stickers across my pages for some pops of aqua and green.

We said goodbye to some friends we made at the campground and I got a slightly decent picture of the super moon this week.  The kiddos and I spent a lot of time at the local pool and had a soap and water fight during a random car washing one afternoon.

And here's the full spread for Week 28...

Thanks for dropping by today...I hope you have a great Columbus Day!

Week 32

Happy Wednesday!

I have my PL spread for Week 32 to share with you today...

 Left Side:

Week 32 was the last week we got to spend in Kansas.  We packed up so we could head back to Illinois so the kids could start school.  It was one of the best weeks we spent out there and it's so hard to believe that we've been back in Illinois for almost two months now.

I used the October OHDEERME kit from Freckled Fawn for this spread along with some Studio Calico PL cards and older Freckled Fawn items from my stash.

We spent most of the weekdays at the Louisburg Aquatic Center and ended the week at one of the Royals' games...Go Royals!!! (I think we might have brought them some good luck this season ;)

Right Side:

I used the right side of my spread for our Royals game photos.  We had such a blast at the game and I wanted to include some of my favorite photos in this week's spread.

The October OHDEERME kit from Freckled Fawn is perfect for your next pocket page spread or layout so be sure and grab yours today.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

October OHDEERME Projects

Hello friends!

It's October and that means I get to share some fun projects I created with this month's OHDEERME kit from Freckled Fawn!

For this layout, I used my die cutting machine to cut out some leaves using watercolor paper.

I used several different shades of orange, yellow, and red watercolors to paint the leaves before I cut them out with my die cutting machine.

I placed the leaves around my photo and in a cluster at the bottom of my page and added several cute embellies that are available in the October kit.

For this next layout, I used a simple grid for my page design and added a few pops of bright pink for a color contrast.

I adhered the metal leaves down to my page using my Tiny Attacher and placed several round enamel dots, epoxy stickers, and rhinestone stickers around the grid design to bring the eye around my page.

Be sure and grab your October OHDEERME kit today and check out all of the details regarding the Creative Team call here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Week 29

Happy Wednesday, friends!

I'm a little behind posting my PL spreads, so here's a look at Week 29 using the September OHDEERME kit from Freckled Fawn.

Left Side:

I used a ton of bright, summery colors for this week's spread.  I added a few pops of black here and there using some wood veneer alphas that are available in the September ODM kit. I used some black acrylic paint to color them.

Right Side:

We spent some quality time with the kids this week by taking them to Paradise Park in Lee's Summit, MO.  We made a whole day out of it and finished it off with a stop for ice cream.

I layered a lot of stickers and embellishments directly on top of my photos and journaling cards.  I love mixing up the ODM kit contents with other manufacturer items because they always seem to go well with EVERYTHING :)

The October OHDEERME kit goes on sale today so be sure and grab yours while they're still available...they go fast!

Have a great day and thanks for dropping in!
