The Story

Happy Wednesday!

Here's a layout I created for this week's sketch challenge over at the Lily Bee blog...

I had these great photos of my boys from this past Easter and since this week's theme is "trendspotting", I thought anchors would be quite fitting :)

I used lots of Lily Bee goodies from their three new collections, Destination, Pinwheel, and Sweet Shoppe for this layout.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the anchors and used both the positive and negative spaces for them on my page.

Please be sure to check out the blog post here and check out Wendy's take on the sketch...she rocked it!

Have a great day!

Project Life - Week 16

Hello friends!  I'm sharing my Project Life spread for the week of April 15-21 (Week 16) over at the Come On Get Crafty blog today.  The color combo I used for my spread was highly inspired by Nicole's moodboard she created for this week...

Aren't those colors just out-of-this-world inspiring!

2week16

Week 16 was busy, busy, busy!  But that's kind of how this whole year has been for us :)  I took lots of photos this week and actually had a hard time paring down the ones I wanted to use for this spread.

4week16
One of the best moments of the week was getting to spend some extra time with my niece while her parents were busy moving into their new home :)  She's so stinkin' cute and into everything!  Love it!!!

5week16

We found a wonderful surprise in our bluebird house this week...5 beautiful eggs!  I can't wait until they  hatch!

3week16
We also found a nest of baby bunnies and a couple of turtles wandering around our sidewalks...gotta love nature and those adorable springtime creatures :)

6week16
We did have a couple of days where the temps dropped way back down into the 30s...brrr...but they were back up again by the weekend.  Thank goodness.

7week16

We spent most of the weekend enjoying the sunshine and spending time together...my hubby turned 40 so it was a very low key, but extended celebration!

And here's my full spread for Week 16...

1week16

Project Life - Week 15

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday!

I have Week 15 of my Project Life to share with you today...

I was so inspired by the beautiful weather we've been having and by Nicole's moodboard for my color combo this week.  You can check it out here.

I love when my redbud tree starts to bloom.  The colors are so beautiful and it makes me happy to see that spring is here!  I used my Cameo for the "spring" cut and embellished the lovely woodgrain circle piece with Candy Buttons from BasicGrey.

Our shed is progressing quite nicely due to the fact that we didn't get any rain that was forecasted for this week :)  The crew has been amazing and it's a wonder how much they can accomplish in one day!

I created this fun photo collage of my kiddos using the iPhone app, Afterlight.  It's by far one of my favorites!

Here's the left side of my spread...

I continued using lots of Candy Buttons and chipboard stars for the right side of my spread as well.

We got a new kitten this week...I just hope he makes it longer than our last one.  It's hard to keep an outdoor cat around, but the kids love having a pet and my hubby and I love having an exterminator, lol!

My husband also began preparations for spring planting this week, so I'm putting my "farmer's wife" hat back on :)  It's always quite the adventure, ha!

And here's the right side of my spread...

And a shot of my full spread for Week 15...

I'm also sharing this week's PL spread over at the Come On Get Crafty blog today.  I have more product details available so I hope you check it out!

Have a great day and TFL!

Sketch Challenge - Enjoy Today

Happy Monday, everyone!

I created this sketch for a Sketch Challenge over at the Come On Get Crafty blog.  We will be having a Sketch Challenge once a month and would love for you to participate!  Plus, you'll get a chance to win a $5 gift card from the Come On Get Crafty online store if you link your creation up here by Saturday, April 26th.

And here's the sketch...

And here's my take on it...

I captured these lovely photos of my daughter during one of our first walks of the season.  We were walking by a wheat field by our home that was just starting to "green up".  It was wonderful!

I used lots of goodies from Come On Get Crafty and some paper from a recent Studio Calico kit.  I am in love with the new Maggie Holmes' line...it's just gorgeous!

And be sure to stop by the blog and check out what our amazing Creative Team has come up with using this sketch!  Have a great day!

And don't miss out on the "Tax Day" shipping special for today at Come On Get Crafty!

Project Life - Week 14

Happy Saturday, friends!

I normally post my Project Life spreads on Monday, but this past week I was sharing my spread for April 1-7 over at the Lily Bee blog :)  The theme for the week was using negative space so here's a look at how I incorporated that theme in my spread...

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the letters and speech bubble on my date card.  I layered some of the new Lily Bee paper collections to create a "negative effect".

On the journaling card above, I used some of the negative cuts (the hearts) from another filler card to make bullets for my journaling points.

Here's what the left side of my spread looks like...

For this pocket, I used my Cameo to cut out a sun ray and layered my photo and embellishments on top of it.

I also cut out this filler card on my Cameo and layered paper behind it to make use of the negative space.

The right side of my spread...

Another great way to use negative space for Project Life spreads is to use the negative space in your photos.  I did this throughout my spread by using the Lily Bee Label Stickers and cut-out bits from their  Flip-Flops patterned paper.

And here's the full spread...

Be sure to check out the full post on the Lily Bee blog here and have a wonderful weekend!  TFL!

Kissy Face Time

 Happy Wednesday, friends!

It's been so crazy around my house this week and I've been super busy with all of my current DT and CT work that I couldn't wait to post this fun layout I created of my adorable niece!

My sister sent me this photo of my niece last week on my phone and as soon as I saw it I knew it would be a really fun one to scrap!  I used some Mister Huey's spray mist for my background splotches and added some enamel dots for extra texture.  I also went wild with the BasicGrey Hey Boy and Knee Highs & Bowties die-cuts and transparencies!  I love all the bright, bold color they add to my layout.

I used lots of goodies from the current Studio Calico kits for this layout.

Isn't she the cutest?!?!  I just wanna smooch her!

I hope you're having a wonderful week!  TFL!
