Sweet & Silly

Happy Thursday, friends!

Here's my take on this week's Sunday Sketch over at Studio Calico...

I love that the sketch had lots of layers!  Big surprise there, right?

I took these photos of my youngest son playing with my adorable niece at our Thanksgiving dinner get-together.  He really loves his cousin!

I couldn't help but use the die cut shapes (Pink Paislee) from my November SC kit for my title.  It just fits these two perfectly!

It's been wild around here this week, but hopefully I'll have a December Daily post for you all tomorrow ;)

Have a great day and TFL!!!

Seriously?

Happy Tuesday, folks!  Just a quick post for you today...this is my take on last week's Sunday Sketch Challenge at Studio Calico >>>

I told my daughter to "smile for the camera" and that face in the bottom photo is what I got in return. Seriously.

I used my November SC kit +Add-ons for this layout.  I can't even tell you how much I am in love with the Dear Lizzy and Pink Paislee embellishments.  Seriously.

I love that lil' stinker!  She's always up for a good time, ha!

Have a good one!  TFL!!!

Me + You

It's Monday and that means another fabulous sketch from the talented Shanna Noel!  I can't tell you how much I LOVE her sketches!

I played along and here's what I came up with...

I got this sweet shot of my brother and my daughter snuggling up together after all the Thanksgiving Day festivities.  Usually, she only snuggles with her mama, so I couldn't wait to use the photo for this awesome sketch :)

I used my SC November Kit +Add-ons, some adorable Freckled Fawn washi, and some lovely Hello Forever badges on this layout.

The adorable star cut is from the Cut It Out class at Studio Calico.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend and your Monday is going nice and smooth :)  Thanks for looking and don't forget to stop by Shanna's blog to check out her take on the sketch and for a chance to win some happy mail!

Through the Lens - What I'm Thankful For

I am thankful for so many obvious things, like my family, my friends, my health, and my kiddos, but this year I'm also thankful for "firsts".  We've had a lot of "firsts" around here lately and with the kids growing up and getting older that doesn't happen as often as it used to!

My oldest son, Garrison, went to his first school dance last weekend (and yes, I did cry a little).  Before he left for the dance I just had to do a "first dance mini photo shoot" with him before he left.  No way was I going to wait until we got to the very dimly lit auditorium and rely on my camera phone only to take a few grainy photos.  When he got dressed up and looked about three years older than he really is I said, "get outside before all the good light is gone!"  Ha!

I'm so thankful for this guy because he was my first baby and he taught me how to be a mommy...we've been through a lot together.

I used my Canon Rebel T3i with my new 50mm 1.4 lens and I edited these photos using some Totally Rad Actions.

My youngest son, Jubal, lost his first tooth just a few nights ago...

It's been almost five years since we've had a "first tooth" experience!  He was pretty freaked out, but was cool with it once the tooth fairy rewarded his efforts, lol!  I'm thankful I get to be the tooth fairy.  I love that parenting perk!

My daughter, Avery, got her hair cut for the first time!  (She's almost four, so this was a BIG deal!).

I did it myself, just a blunt cut across the back...can you believe it was all the way down to her waist!  She loved it and asks me all the time when we can do it again.

She also went on her first school field trip the other day...

It was a trip to our local university to see their new football stadium and upgraded basketball arena...don't let this pic fool you, she was pretty grouchy the entire time!  I'm thankful I get to spend these moments with her because I don't work outside of the home.  I'm thankful for my husband because he works so hard so I am able to stay at home with my kids.

Another big first around here was my niece's first birthday party...

It was such a special day and I'm so thankful I got to be a part of it.  It's such a special milestone!

I'm also thankful for all of you who take time out of your busy day/lives to read my blog.  I truly enjoy sending out inspiration to you and receiving feedback and comments...they really do make my day :)  I'm also thankful for the connections and friendships I've made through this little blogging journey of mine...I truly cherish each and every one of them!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who is celebrating today!  I hope your day is filled with lots of great food, family, & friends!  TFL!!!

Freckled Fawn November Color Challenge

The November Color Challenge is up over at the Freckled Fawn blog!

And here's my layout using the beautiful monochromatic color scheme...

I am in love with the fall colors this year!  They've been so vibrant and bright.  I snapped this pic in the woods by our home.  I couldn't believe how amazing the colors turned out!

I used some of my November SC kit and some I Lowe Scrap paper, along with some FF washi for this layout.

The badges I used on this layout are from Hello Forever and the arrow cut is from the current SC class, Cut It Out.

The heart background cut is from the Silhouette online store and the "amazing" cut, which I used for part of my title, is from Heidi Swapp.  I misted it using some Mister Huey's Warm Calico and Shine.

I hope you play along with us this month!  Just link up your project here by Monday, December 3rd for a chance to win a $5 Freckled Fawn Gift Card!  Good luck and happy scrapping!

2 Fun Girls

Happy Monday, friends!  Thanksgiving is almost here and I seriously can't believe it's that time of year again...where did it go?

I have a really fun layout for you today.  It's based on this awesome sketch by my friend Shanna Noel...

I LOVE sketches, so when Shanna asked me to play along, I was instantly inspired...

Have you ever watched that show on CBS, Two Broke Girls?  That was my inspiration for my title :)  The rest literally came together in minutes (I just love when that happens!).  I had these great pics of me and my daughter on my iPhone so I pulled the colors from the photo for my color scheme.

I used this month's SC Kit +Add-ons for this layout.  My favorite thing on here is that number "2" Dear Lizzy die cut.

The "fun" cut was from the Silhouette Online Store.

Don't forget to head on over to Shanna's blog to check out her take on the sketch!  Link up your take here by Monday, November 26th and get a chance to win some Happy Mail!  Have a great day and TFL!!!

Be Happy & Enjoy The Journey

First off, a big thank you and salute to all of our veterans on this Veteran's Day 2012!

Second, I have two big boxes of paper and all kinds of scrapbooking goodies to give away here.  If you're interested, just leave a comment and I'll randomly draw two winners this Friday, November 16th!  Almost everything in the boxes are from past Studio Calico kits, just so ya know ;)

And last, but not least, I have a layout to share with you today.  It's my take on this week's Sunday Sketch...

I finally got to break out my November SC kit and I'm loving it!  I stuck fairly close to the sketch, but I had to add a bit more to the right side :)

This layout is sort of a thankful for/look how far you've come take on my life right now.  I turned 30 gasp this past August and I feel like I have accomplished so much in the past few years....heck, just in the past year!  Some things I've accomplished are very small, some things I've accomplished are very personal, and some things I've accomplished are very private, but that's why I love scrapbooking.  Sometimes I can express myself and my feelings better through paper and pretties than through words and expressions.

I am happy and enjoying the journey.  More now than ever before in my entire life.

I'm very thankful I get to "live the dream"...my dream that is and no one else's...and I hope you are doing the same :)

I hope you have a wonderful evening and thanks for looking!

Happy Together

TGIF!  I'm kinda sorta glad this crazy week is almost over :)  Only I fear it's going to get crazier as the holidays are right around the corner!  I'm going to spend some time this weekend coming up with a plan to keep the craziness to a minimum.

Anyway, amidst all the crazy that was this week, I am feeling very thankful for all I have, especially these three...

I used this week's Sunday Sketch as my inspiration for this layout.  I also used October's SC kit, Roller Rink +Add-ons, washi, and some bits from the Autumn ohDEERme Kit from Freckled Fawn.

The pearly vellum is from the Cut It Out class at SC.

I painted these wooden leaves to look like they were "dipped" in paint.  I actually used some washi to make a (somewhat) straight line across the bottom as a guide while I painted the front and sides.  It peeled off perfectly!

I really was drawn to the sketch because of the sun rays...love those.

As I mentioned above, I really am feeling thankful for all I have and all I have accomplished this year.  I'm also very thankful for you, my readers, who have helped me grow and learn through this blogging journey so I'm going to "share the love" with two lucky Table Scraps readers!  Recently, I started purging in my craft space and I have two big boxes of supplies that I want to give away.  Just leave me a comment on this post saying what you are thankful for and I will draw TWO winners on Friday, November 16th.  The boxes will be filled with lots of scrapping goodies such as paper, embellishments, stamps, chipboard shapes and letters, etc., etc....

Good luck and be sure to check back next Friday to see if you've won!  TFL!

Hello My Name Is Tinkerbell

Happy Thursday, friends!  I hope you've had a smooth week.  Mine has been quite productive and I've been able to get a lot more work done, especially on the computer, during the longer evenings.  I love that.

Here's a layout I completed of my daughter in her Halloween costume.  Probably one of my favorite pics of all time :)

I used lots of leftover bits from SC's October Kit and some more I Lowe Scrap patterned paper...which I also love.

The beautiful green rosette and the smaller resin turquoise one are from the Autumn ohDEERme Kit from Freckled Fawn.

The cut file "this" that I used on this page is from the Cut It Out class at SC and the "favorite" border is a .png file from Ali Edwards that I converted into a cut file in the Silhouette software.

I had a lot of fun with this layout!  I hope you enjoy!

Have a great day and TFL!!!
