Here's my take on this week's Sunday Sketch challenge at Studio Calico...

I took the photo of this layout at a really weird time of day and I'm not super happy with the way it came out...oh well, not gonna stress about that very long :)

I'm still using my So Cal kit from SC and I'm still loving every ounce of it!  The cloud vellum from Dear Lizzy is probably my favorite item!

I cut the word "summer" out using my Cameo.  It was the free shape for this week, so hurry up and download it now!  I used white cardstock and sprayed a variety of Mister Huey's mists to create the rainbow effect inspired by the photo I took one evening last week when we were fishing.

Project Life - Week 15

Another week is in the books!  Wow, they just keep on flying by :0)

Here's my PL spread for the week of June 18th - 24th...

I used new SC product for these pages and I really like how the color scheme turned out.  As you can see I've found a few new iPhone photo editing apps that I'm slightly obsessed with...it's always something, right?  Check out Snapster and Picfx if you want to join in on the fun!

Here's a quick rundown of my week:

Lots and lots of fishing.
First week of swimming lessons for Jubal and Avery.
Lots and lots of blackberry picking (well, lots for Jubal anyway :)
Climbing trees.
New found goodies at Wal-Mart.
And spending a little bit of time in my craft room.

All in all, not a bad week...

Hey Girl

I normally don't post on Saturday's but I've been spending some extra time in my craft room and have really been inspired by everything summer lately so here's a layout I just completed...

I used my So Cal kit from SC for this page...I'm loving they "Hey Girl" stamp set a lot, so be prepared to see lots of arrows on my pages!

We've been spending a lot of time fishing this week and venturing out on a (tiny!) boat almost every evening with the kids.  It's been a lot of fun and I think I'm slightly addicted :)  I usually end up catching the most fish and it drives the boys crazy!  Love that!

1st Swim Lesson

We've been on summer break since mid-May, but since summer is officially here, I thought it would be nice to share a very "summery" layout I just completed with you :)

It's very subtle, but if you look to the top left of this photo you can see that I embossed some water droplet shaped stamps all over the orange paper.  I used SU's iridescent ice and my heat gun for this effect.

I knew as soon as I printed these photos that I wanted to use bright colors to set them off, however they didn't look quite right on the bright orange background so I added the white patterned paper to keep everything a bit more balanced.

I used my So Cal kit +Add-Ons for this layout.  I've been hoarding that Dear Lizzy banner for awhile now and I knew it would be perfect for this page.

the fabulous five

It's not often enough that I get a picture of the whole family in one shot so I'm always super stoked when it happens.  As soon as I printed this photo, I knew I had to scrap it right away so I used it as my inspiration for this week's Sunday Sketch challenge over at Studio Calico.

Originally, the sketch was a two-pager, but I kept mine to just one because I had a very clear idea of how I wanted it to look.

I used SC's June Kit, So Cal +Add-Ons, for this layout.  They really hit it head on with this month's kit.  I love the colors, the embellishments, and all the papers so much...it's really going to be hard trying not to hoard it all!

I really used a lot of embellishments for this one, but that's kind of the look I was going for.  Adding the transparency helped keep me add a layer without making it seem too busy and I really like the effect is has on the grey striped patterned paper.

Project Life - Week 14

Here's my Project Life spread for the week of June 11th - 17th...

Still doing lots of photos vs. journaling.  There just hasn't been enough time for any more.  The Phonto app on my iPhone has helped fill that gap a bit.

From left to right:

Jubal locked himself out of his work truck and I had to come rescue him from the field.
My new favorite drink (Daily's "drinks in a bag").
And my Dad with the grandkids watching the motorcycles go by in Giant City this past Saturday.

through the lens - Father's Day Weekend

I've kind of started something with this "through the lens" series on my blog.  I've been taking so many pictures lately and I love to share them so I'm thinking this will be a weekly thing.  Right now it's easier for me to share my creativity through my photos than with scrapbook supplies, so I'm going with the flow.  I'm aching to get into my craft room and scrap, but it's been way harder than I ever imagined since the kids got out of school for summer break.

We did a lot of celebrating this weekend.  My Dad's birthday was Friday and (of course) Father's Day was Sunday.  Here are some of my favorite shots from the weekend...
